  1. Can't see us scoring, I'd settle for a draw but am expecting a loss.
  2. Just no width whatsoever. When you've got Kozak and Benteke up front surely you want to be whipping crosses into them? Personally I'd try this.... Guzan Hutton--Senderos--Vlaar--Cissokho The Rock --Delph Nzogbia Cleverley Someone Benteke If we sign a winger that is actually decent at doing what wingers are supposed to do then I might change it around. Hutton and Cissokho have shown enough going forward to suggest that they will provide the width in my team, the midfield can sit deep or push up depending on what way the game is going. If Grealish makes the step up this year then I would find a place for him in the starting 11 also.
  3. Guzan Hutton--Senderos--Vlaar--Cissokho The Rock Cleverley--Westwood--Delph Kozak--Benteke Solid team that will have goals in it and should be solid in defence also. We would also have great options on the bench and could switch to a number of different formations to suit whichever way a game is panning out
  4. Class player who will prove his worth this season when given more freedom due to having a proper DMF in the side to sit back and allow him to have a bigger impact going forward
  5. I've seen the fee quoted as between £700,000 and £800,000 which is a fair price for him given that he only has 1 year left on his contract.
  6. Good luck to him. He had a decent enough season last year and can look back on his time here in a positive light. Nothing spectacular about him but we definitely got our money worth out of him.
  7. Hopefully Hull don't get a striker in the next few days and then panic on deadline day and sign Bent or maybe even Palace. Please somebody take him.
  8. Come on, really? Delph, Sanchez, Westwood, Cleverley, Cole competing for three spots. Darn sight better than what we had 2 months ago. More players doesn't mean more creativity though. True but the point is that having quality players fighting for their place in the team should lead to them upping their game and benefit the team. Lambert had feck all quality options in most positions over the past 2 seasons and as a result had to keep playing players who were off form. If we can get a quality winger then our squad will be looking great imo and we will have good competition for places in all positions.
  9. You'll fit in well on this forum then.
  10. Sure we will let Warnock have Bent for free. I'm sure Bent would love to move back to London but I doubt Warnock would be stupid enough to sign him unfortunately.
  11. Well it would be good to see us over spend for once compared with scrimping and scraping and hopefully we might over spend a couple more times before the window closes!
  12. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/teams/manchester-united/11061592/Aston-Villa-to-make-8million-bid-for-Manchester-United-midfielder-Tom-Cleverley.html
  13. £8m fee and probably between £50-60k per week on wages? If we spend similar on a winger then we will have a beast squad.
  14. This video is better purely because the music is amazing.
  15. He really isn't. He really is. Very mature, measured responses from both of you. Bravo. He really isn't. He really is. He's behind you... Panto season isn't til Xmas, calm down guys.
  16. One positive is that it will create good competition in the midfield. If we can afford his wages then I'd be hopeful that we can afford to get a winger in on similar wages.
  17. What the **** are you on about? Just highlighting that if he was as good as some make out on here, then perhaps he would do that. Mind you, if people feel sorry for him based on him getting stuck in and even winning a few headers against Leyton Orient then expectations are very very low. Step Up to the plate lad!! I watched the highlights on bbc last night and out of the 4 chances of ours that it showed, Westwood created 2 of them by putting in good corners. By the sounds of it he put another 1 on Bakers head who missed again. Is setting up 3 good goal scoring chances not considered 'stepping up to the plate'? What taking a few good corners??? No of course it isn't. Really good players grab them games by the scruff of its neck and go and win them regardless of their position/role in the side. Not one of our players did that. Not Westwood, grealish, Sanchez. Not one. I am absolutely sick to death of hearing about how good these players are because of stuff like 'they keep it ticking, they got stuck in, look lively etc. Its all a bit hollow for me. It's like people are ok with him putting in a few decent balls. Oh well he did his job ok, it's a shame about the rest. To lose 0-1 to Leyton Orient is an absolute disgrace and every one of them players out there could and should have given a hell of a lot more. So we created quite a few good chances last night that were then missed by the likes of Bent & Baker but you think the whole team should be blamed despite creating the opportunities ? I'm confused...
  18. I've never seen him play AMF so I'm gonna cling to the thought that he has been playing out of position for Utd and will look better in a more advanced role because he has been crap playing in CMF whenever I've watched him. He's only 23 so hopefully he proves me and other people wrong.
  19. Oh ffs, that guy has been spot on so far. I'll be sickened if we sign Cleverly.... Spend the money on attacking players!!
  20. No place for him in the squad last night so that kinda confirms he is on the way out.

  22. But where were these posts between 16th and 26th ?...I can see almost none. So it IS a reaction to the game. I can't speak for everyone else, but for me personally I don't think it's either helpful or particularly intelligent to post negative things about the manager after games where we pick up points. A lot of people are hurting after an embarrassing defeat and you can't blame them for that, but you can't honestly be sitting there and thinking that people are basing their opinions concerning sacking Lambert purely from this latest game. I wasn't impressed with the way we played during the Stoke win or the draw against Newcastle. Neither games were good enough to make me change my mind, but I'm not going to come on here and bore everyone and ruin the good vibes after picking up some points. I've wanted him gone for a while. I don't hate the guy, I'm not going to spit vitriol and it's definitely not all his doing, but he just is not a good coach and there are others who could do better. We might not improve all that much and there are other problems at the club but they don't look like they're going to be fixed in the short term. Getting a better coach in who could get us more possession and playing more creative football is something that could have more of an immediate impact. It's a good post and I can totally understand where you are coming from but Lambert is left having to play crap like Gabby and Bent as strikers and imo people need to consider the overall situation of the club and look at what the manager has had to put up with. Since he has taken over we have being getting run like a championship team and he has had to work with and try and sign average players in the main. I have some problems with his management style also but I still think he has done a decent job with everything considered and we look a stronger squad by a long way this season. We need additions upfront but it wouldn't surprise me if Lerner doesn't put up the money. All us fans can see what is needed for the team to improve and I'm sure Lambert can also but if the owner doesn't make it happen then the manager is being hampered and can't be expected to take all the blame when things go wrong!!
  23. What happens if we get a result against Hull then? Then a lot of people get confused and frustrated as they don't know where to direct their negativity...........this thread certainly won't be very active if we were to win, unlike when we lose...!
