  1. Chadli didn't make the spuds squad vs West Ham on Saturday. He might be a more realistic option if they want to loan him. I've never seen much of him playing so dunno if he is any good. Anybody on here rate him or have seen him playing a lot?
  2. Some quotes from Lambert and Hutton in this article about how it was RL's decision to make the 'bomb squad' : http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2727311/Alan-Hutton-Aston-Villa-s-comeback-king-defender-Randy-Lerner-wanted-club-stars-win-Stoke-City.html?ITO=1490&ns_mchannel=rss&ns_campaign=1490
  3. This is a tackle by your definition? Give it up mate. He made no tackles and it now just smacks of you stubbornly not backing down on your original claim no matter what. Over and out. Yeah that's a tackle by 'MY DEFINITION'. It is what I would call a bad tackle. complicated stuff eh? Maybe ill go through the match and take stills to try and prove a point but tbh I can't be arsed and you obviously can't grasp the whole concept of people seeing things different and forming adverse opinions. Under and in.
  4. Even had the whistle not gone, fouls don't register as tackles. Well to me it's a tackle so I guess we have found the point of where we won't agree.
  5. Agreed. He didn't have his best game yesterday but he was playing DMF and doing a lot of tracking back. Hopefully next week he will be playing in front of The Rock and he will get more of the ball.
  6. Guzan - 7 Hutton - 8 Senderos - 9 (motm) Vlaar - 9 Cissokho - 9 Westwood - 7 Delph - 8 Richardson - 8 N'zogbia - 7 Weimann - 8 Gabby - 7 Lambert - 9
  7. He was booked for a tackle but that tackle won't be on the stats as the whistle was blown for a free before that.!
  8. I rewatched the game last night and he certainly made a couple of tackles around our 18 yard box. Maybe my definition of a tackle is different to whatever website your using to state that he made zero tackles. I'll trust my own judgement on this one.
  9. His effort and determination were top notch yesterday. I can see why Keano supposedly recommended him. He was constantly popping up in both 18 yard boxes and made a really important contribution to us getting the victory.
  10. I totally agree and also noticed him putting in some really good tackles and intetceptions yesterday. Fair enough he mis-timed one but it was a 50/50 ball that he was stretching for. He will be a better all round player for having played that DMF role the past few seasons.
  11. He was awesome yesterday. One big difference was the organisation in our defence with both Ron and Senderos shouting orders instead of Ron trying to get Lowton, Baker and Luna in position ob his own. Great to see Senderos speaking up about Ron staying.
  12. Whaaaaat? Hernandez is good but nothing special imo. Vlaar would probably be about 10x more important to us than trying to carry Hernandez. We should bring in an attacking midfielder that can play the wings as well and play Weimann upfront til we get either of Libor or Benteke back.
  13. He is only effective on the wings. He gets the chance to go 1v1 and use his pace. He looked good playing there last season until he turned crap after xmas. That was a bad miss yesterday but at least he ran himself into ground and never stopped hassling the Stoke players. I'd be ok with him being a sub or starting wing forward when we get Benteke back.
  14. I like him as an option off the bench and a decent enough replacement if someone gets injured but he is a bit limited at this level. I'd be happy enough if he stayed but also won't cry if he leaves. He had a decent enough season last year and scored a couple of really important goals.
  15. Please just stay Ron. Villa, get a serious contract offer sorted out asap!
  16. Manly bear hugs, I could watch that all day. The 2 of them were 10/10 today...Beasts!
  17. He saw loads of the ball but wasted most of it by glorying or bad decisions. We could of had another couple of goals if he passed a couple of times. Still, he looked dangerous and was popping up in great positions so hopefully it'll work out a bit better next week and he can smash in a free kick vs his old club.
  18. Just watched the match there now. We were immense, everybody except Zog and Gabby to a lesser extent were brilliant. worked our socks off and had a real solid defence to build from. Great displays all round. I've already fallen in love with the 4 baldies at the back but especially the 2 beasts at centre back. Please don't ruin it Ron...
  19. He has been sitting back too deep to dictate games, when we play well and control teams he is always at the heart of it and creates loads of dangerous situations with his passing. He should be a lot more prominent in games this season when he is pushed forward more and doesn't have to constantly worry about tracking back. He will probably play in a holding 2 with The Rock a fair few times this season as well so it's good to hear that he is the one giving the kick and not the one taking them.
  20. He comes alive in the box, he can do the hard work on the wings but he doesn't do enough in an attacking sense when he is out wide. He would do well in a front 2 imo, he can drop off and track back but when we have possession he should be in around the 18 yard box. The keeper was bad for his goal Today but he hit it well and kept it down and it was good to see that as he usually balloons them chances. I make that 3 goals in 4 games for us if you count the end of last season
  21. To be fair most could've guessed the team. I haven't seen the post, its a screenshot of it. He could've posted a hundred variations and they picked the one that turned out to be correct after the fact. They're desperate to cling to any kind of credibility they have. Guys go easy, the guy posted that 'in good faith'. We must respect his knowledge or face the ban hammer...
