  1. I get what you mean because I found it strange that he just stopped when moving towards where the ball was going. I don't know why he did that. Other than that, it was probably one of his best performances - and he still conceded 4, which begs some questions: Do the players feel less assured with him there? Is he commanding enough as a keeper to organise the defence adequately?
  2. Quite simply, we'll find out later in the wider context of the season. Emery's picking his battles to win the war, as it were.
  3. I think he did well at times and it was a very valuable experience for him. Defensively, as you say, he was good - some nice tackles, interceptions and pressure on the opponents. At other times, it was clear that he is what he is - a youngster learning and finding it difficult (but who wouldn't, right?). All in all, encouraging out of 10.
  4. Well he owes us after that stupid red
  5. Excellent range of passing today - very happy that he got his first assist. There's very clearly a lot of potential there.
  6. 17 contributions in all comps is a very healthy return for a player settling in to a new league and system.
  7. He's no stranger to adversity and overcoming it. If he keeps up this level, I'd be happy to sign him.

    Ezri Konsa

Konsa has grown so much under Emery. Used to be really timid in possession, always playing it super safe - now he's really come out of his shell. You love to see it.
  9. He had a rancid game today. Ah well, move on - we know he's a good player.
  10. Yeah it really feels like he's put the scandal behind him, settled in to the side and is understanding of his place and what he needs to do. Really loved the energy today and was absolutely pivotal in the second goal.

    Jhon Durán

Great cameo. Really nice to see him becoming part of the squad too - loved the scenes in the celebration.
  12. As I said, I do wonder if that'll be excluded in the near future as it's got nothing to do with football really.
  13. He's an attacker, so is completely the wrong fit for Southgate's England tbf.
  14. What's the revenue going to be from a little poolside bar thing? It's not going to be substantial, surely? Do we even have the clientele for it? Restaurants make a lot more sense, as does the idea of making the surrounding area more of a general entertainment hub where people go throughout the week to spend money. I do wonder how long it'll be before the money made from non-footballing investments is excluded from FFP, though.
  15. Hopefully a nice little confidence boost but let's face it, the level of opposition is far lower than he's used to playing even in the championship.
  16. How he managed to keep *checks notes* Thai league superstar Nelson Bonilla from scoring is anyone's guess.
  17. You can't really have it both ways tbh.
  18. Nice assist but that's against some of the easiest opposition he's probably ever played against, in fairness.
  19. Jury's out, for me and I'm glad he's on loan for this reason. He's got until the end of the season to show us why we should invest in him, because we've only seen glimpses so far. It should be noted that there are definitely mitigating factors, namely the betting scandal that disrupted him for a while, not to mention a completely new league, country and club to settle down into.
  20. Yeah, I agree, and at the same time, you can see why he cost what he did rather than 20m+ - there's some development required. That can actually be very good though as we'll be shaping him as a footballer to play in our system.

He played like Brobbey is hyped up to.
  22. It was really good to see Bailey and Diaby both on the pitch and both playing well. They've kinda got in each other's way a little at times before.
  23. Really good performance from him tonight and I'm so happy he got his goal - as said above, should be a great confidence booster for him.
  24. Are you trying to apply logic to football fan rants?
