  1. Early days yet - he got the win he told us would be the platform, let's hope he utilizes it well and we really don't look back.
  2. Needs to do that consistently - he was excellent today, a far cry from the vast majority of his performances this season. Hope he keeps it up.
  3. I love his enthusiasm and work ethic but he's got to practice his crossing - a lot of promising attacks amounted to nothing because his final ball wasn't good enough. He's got the determination to do it, just hope he has the ability too.
  4. Well won pen and a couple of decent crosses but the sooner we get cissokho back defending, the better. Lowton at LM could work but his lack of pace and positioning puts a lot of pressure on the team at times, like when Okore bailed him out after he was stranded in no man's land.
  5. It's a fair comment - he's got a hell of a lot of making up to do before people will get on his side.
  6. He just can't be bothered - horrific work rate.
  7. We've been the better half against Newcastle - Sherwood's higher tempo play looks promising but it doesn't matter for shit when you're 1-0 down.
  8. Certainly looks that way - hopefully Sherwood will find it in them somewhere.
  9. The problem there is that there is a hell of a lot less pressure on Burnley to succeed and that gives them a bit of freedom. I'm not sure about Leicester or QPR given their owners and the amount spent but certainly Burnley are in that boat.
  10. I wouldn't - he's got the worst attitude in the entire squad and has never looked remotely arsed when playing for us. I'm really looking forward to the day he's no longer a Villa player.
  11. Those things aren't just about fitness though - confidence and motivation also play a part there.
  12. I'm happy that he's finally cutting it at senior level - it'd be great if he came back and turned into the player we all hoped he would become.
  13. In before 'Shitwood'. Best of.luck to him - hope it works out.
  14. True but I think it's better to go for somebody that is as small a risk as possible, given the situation we find ourselves in.
  15. Not sure why people want Prandelli so much - not really proven himself to be that great a manager, in all honesty.
  16. He hasn't managed in almost 10 years.
  17. No offense but I'm glad you're not the one in charge of hiring our new manager. I wouldn't want any of those guys. Any reason? Ranieri - because he's won very little in his career and despite having ridiculous funds to spend at Chelsea, achieved absolutely nothing there. Laudrup - because he's a fraud. He's a big name who doesn't really know anything about management. He barely turned up to training when he was Swansea boss. Meulensteen - not managed to cut it as a manager, despite a few attempts. He's a great assistant and a great coach but they're different jobs.
  18. There's ability there but he seems totally bereft of confidence. I don't think moving to us at this time was a good move to get it back.

Hope the new manager builds a team around him tbh - he's got fantastic ability.
  21. I think Gabby is very influential in the 'dressing room' as it were - seems to be well-liked and any manager coming in needs to handle him properly.
  22. A lot of coaching experience there - bit of a gamble seeing as he's never managed before but worked under some great managers (Hiddink, Ancelotti) and seen how things should be done at some big clubs.
  23. Disagree - I don't think necessarily having an older manager is that important. I agree with experience and knowledge of coaching but this can be done in a matter of years - which is why I'd like us to go for Karanka.
  24. I like this idea but I'm not sure he'd go for it.
  25. Yep - absolutely. No ill will from me there but it just wasn't working out.
