Well no, not really - that's not one of our stated goals this season and it was never an expectation that we'd be as good as we have been. I don't think it's fair to hold the team to that standard but rather take it game by game, as we have been doing. Sheffield United set up incredibly defensively and it was going to be hard to break them down, especially with the ref in perfect sync with their style of play and VAR ruling against us in at least 3 50/50 decisions.
  2. Yeah - it's his vision and ability to execute great passes that really make him special.

Nah. Is this a translation issue or are you just really harsh and demanding on youngsters? It's silly to expect him to win a match for us, but you hope that he does because he clearly has potential and ability.

We hope he learns from the minutes he gets and can impact the game, but it's stupid to expect him to dramatically change the course of things at his age.

Think he was just as frustrated as the rest of us with the officiating.
  6. Rescued us a point with that. Good work.

Bad cameo today - touch and decision making not good. It's to be expected with kids though and we shouldn't be looking at him to change a game at his age.
  8. He's just back from injury, give him a break.

I feel guilty for saying 'good' out loud when they said he was going to miss the Man U game. We do need someone more consistent and composed than him, though.
  10. A cursory glance would suggest that they are in need of money.
  11. https://salarysport.com/football/brasileirão/club-de-regatas-vasco-da-gama/ If this is anything to by, he would absolutely destroy their wage structure even if he took a huge cut.
  12. Emery didn't mention him today, so with Pau out tomorrow, you'd expect him to feature unless he's off.
  13. Seems fanciful seeing as he starts for them.
  14. While the ability to adapt and deal with his absence is great, surely we'd still be better off if we had him available?
  15. Kamory Doumbia has just scored 4 goals in a half against Lorient. Only 20. Never heard him before today. Sign him up.
  16. You've also got the benefit of hindsight. JPB hadn't proved himself capable of producing consistently in the final third before this season and there was no way in hell he was getting first team.
  17. Because we've bought a lot of good expensive players in recent years and the fees and wages add up.
  18. He concentrates really hard at being a bit shit at just about everything
  19. Yeah and rightly so because he's supposed to be a trusted, experienced international goalkeeper and is handsomely remunerated for it. He's not a kid making his debut for the first team.
  20. Yes, but our best chances of success are by him having the best players available for him to do his job and we're not getting someone better than Luiz.
  21. That was a nice story, why'd you delete it?! A bit of wholesome banter.
  22. Olympiakos are shite. I've seen Ajax play a couple of times against AEK this season and they're not really up to much either - there are some good youngsters there but we'd batter them all the same.
  23. What did you do to elicit that response? 'Papin? MORE LIKE CRAPIN! AMIRITE?!'
  24. He's only played RB 20 times in his career, apparently. Stats-wise looks like he's comfortable on the ball and can pass, which certainly fits the system. No idea if he's any good, though, as this is the first time I've ever heard of him, let alone seen him play.
  25. For sure - it was deliberate from Martinez to disrupt things and waste time (classic Dibu shithousing tbf) but it wasn't a smart idea given how sour the atmosphere had turned and Bouba is suffering now. Are 3 points worth Kamara out for 3 games? Hard to say.
