  1. Neither of them getting into Mensa - Cash is so dumb
  2. Maybe we don't go on the run we have done if we weren't handed that savage lesson.

    Jhon Durán

That's a really bad take for my money, Global. I also don't believe that you were 'laughed at' for saying that neither Davis nor Delfouneso would make the grade because neither of them really showed us much in the prem. Duran's goal against Palace alone was something to be impressed by. I take it that if Duran is a success, you'll be completely humble and admit you were completely wrong too?
  4. Having a week before the next game is good. It's been a tough old run and the style of play we have requires us to be sharp, not least mentally.
  5. It's worth remembering that he's basically 4th or 5th choice CB given the squad we've got. He's alright.
  6. A lot of pressure on him and he finished it beautifully.
  7. Two great assists and a hardworking performance that really troubled Burnley. Good work from Ollie, which you'd expect.
  8. That tactical style was worse than the one we have now and having players who can only do one job was part of that issue. Besides, imagine how much better NRC would've been if he was good on the ball and could pick out passes. All this discussion is basically immaterial anyway because you've/we've arrived at names like Rodri and Rice. Every team needs and wants players like that, but if they weren't excellent on the ball they'd just be another player not good enough for us.
  9. Those players have us 3rd in the league. There's nothing really wrong with our style and we were short-staffed against Man Utd. As for the players you listed: everyone wants players like that, who wouldn't? Do you think that we'd have a chance of signing Rodri or Rice? Even before they went to their respective current clubs? Bentancur was an opportunity missed, granted, but they are scarce and, as a result, very expensive and difficult to find.
  10. The issue there is our play style dictates that we need technical players as a pre-requisite. When you combine strong physical types with the technical side of things, the price goes up quickly, unfortunately.
  11. Barton's an absolute tool tbf. Any word on when Louie Barry might be back?
  12. I've been on here 25 years or so mate - it's always been aggy.
  13. We have high standards when it comes to CBs. Carlos has a lot of positives about his game but his decision-making is his weakness and it is amplified by the style of play we have.
  14. We didn't exactly have many options when it came to making changes to sort out the defence. Chambers isn't particularly good, Torres probably shouldn't even have been on the bench and Moreno is an attacking wing-back. We had to start Dendoncker ffs It's amazing that we're seeing a level of entitlement (not talking about you when I say this) where we go out to Old Trafford with several players out and expect to just steamroller through them.
  15. That still doesn't logically make sense because we're not going to buy a player for 100m (for the reasons stated) and Luiz would, de facto, be a 100m player. The best case scenario is that we get someone who might, after having time to settle, be on the same level as him, and then you'd have to ask yourself what the point of selling him was in the first place.
  16. Ok Mo Farah, calm down - I'm sure every league is exactly the same and no player ever struggles moving from one league to another. It's not like we have any sort of frame of reference for it either, like, I don't know, a winger from the Bundesliga who went through the same thing. Man, that'd be useful.
  17. Yes, because he overdid it in games and didn't pace himself properly - so is now struggling to catch up with it again. Energy is finite.
  18. RB is the only position I think is an issue tbh. I want to see Pau and Konsa as our CB pairing with someone more cool, calm and collected than Cash at RB.
  19. Yup. I think he overdid it at times trying to impress and the physical demands have caught up with him a little, so he's tired. Hopefully he won't get written off in this dip of form by the 'less patient' section of the fanbase.
  20. No, not at all - it completely ignored the bigger picture and the valid reasons as to why Bailey struggled to settle. Now the record has been altered slightly from 'well I'm still not convinced' to 'well he's only done it for half a season' because giving him praise is obviously far too difficult for the ego to handle. It just makes you both look ridiculous.
  21. Of course you agree with him, you're far more concerned with not being wrong than anything rational.
