  1. I always dreamed of a trefoil Adidas Villa shirt, from way back in the 80s. If they make one, I will buy... several,
  2. I dont think providing platforms for fans to kill themselves after a bad result is the way to go.
  3. Looking at those charts I'd say Kamara, Fofana and Luiz could play in the same midfield. I'd also temper them by saying Ligue 1 is nowhere near as competitive as the PL, but those are great numbers and he's obviously a class player.
  4. I think you're underestimating demand to be honest but you're entitled to your opinion. Even if there were a few games with a few thousand empty seats (not saying there would be) its better to have them and not need them than need them and not have them. Having a 60k capacity stadium isn't just for Villa though. There's also major events and international sports. Its all revenue we could use. At the start of this season the waiting list for season tickets was 33,000, and we've had a better season. Imagine if we get Champions League and / or win the Conference?
  5. Frimpong could work if we switched the attacking fullback emphasis from left to right. So you'd have Frimpong, Konsa, Mings, Torres as your back 4 for instance. You'd could then switch it back to left by having Konsa as your right back with Moreno or Digne providing the marauding down the left. Or have both full backs attack and drop Kamara into a sweeper role. Options. Frimpong would add to them nicely.
  6. Sorry, I cant agree with this. Villa could easily fill a stadium well in excess of 50k. Especially currently. The problem is logistics and room, not demand. 50k isn't nearly enough and we should be planning for 60k at least. That said, 52k as a first phase is sensible.
  7. Tbf, as I recall the club decided to close a tier without even seeing if attendance fell. I think this was a mistake but we had poor management at the time. Newcastle are a fantastically well supported club but so are we.
  8. No, I'm not saying the agent would choose. The player and his family would choose after receiving advice from the agent on his options. I don't see why an agent has to have a relationship with certain clubs either, that's part of the current problems. They should do just do their job, which would be making sure the player is properly represented, not taken advantage of, and get a contract that that reflects his talent. I see no reason why some greasy ponce has to come in doing the same thing but screwing 50 times more than is warranted from all involved. Agents hurt the music industry and they've hurt sport too. Not all, but too many and too often. Edit: sorry Blandy, I was already typing that. I'll say no more.
  9. Why would we want to spend less? We could outmuscle all but 2 clubs maybe in the league if the shackles were off? Then again, the proposed cap would allow us to spend a shitload anyway so why vote against it? I'm scratching my head a bit tbh.
  10. Not sure if this the right place for this but apparently we are one of 3 clubs voting against a proposed spending cap. The others being Man Utd and Man City. The spending cap is based on 5x TV revenue of the bottom club, which if you take last years would be circa £500m. So, any thoughts on why we would want to vote against that? Would our owners want to spend more?
  11. Thanks. I was just fiddling around in the FIfa kit creator for a bit of fun.
  12. I think we'll move a few on this summer anyway (like 6 or 7) and Percy reckons we're after a few players. We have a lot of increased income and if we get CL too, it makes even more sense.
  13. I see Palace are basically touting Eze and Olise this summer. Would we be in the market for one, or both? I wouldn't play Olise instead of Bailey, and Eze would be in stiff competition for a place in our midfield, but no doubt they'd add a lot of quality to the squad.
  14. We finished last season strongly when we needed to in order to get European football. I like to think we can again to get Champions League. This doesn't feel like the old "we'll make it unnecessarily hard / **** it up / hope that kills you" Villa. This feels like a "gtfo of our way Villa". The force is with us. Spurs can sit down.
  15. I hate him. I mean a deep, irrational, blood feud type of raging hate I cant quite explain. The thought of putting my fists into his rodent face is exquisite. I hope we never even consider signing this scuttering shithouse rat boy scumbag.
  16. I wouldn't be surprised if Cash is moved on too.

We could feasibly be playing 60 games or so next season if we go deeper in the cups and play CL. Mings would be mad to want to leave that even if he's not 1st choice. We're a level higher than when he last played for us too to be honest.
  18. It depends on the full back situation as we often play 3 CBs at a time. So another would be ideal.
  19. Its not an uproar. Its a rightroar when fans wanted a leftroar. I just dont want a yellowroar on light blue.
  20. Yellow on light blue does not work. It never has and it never will. A drop shadow doesn't help it either. I'm horrified by the new badge. Please change it before Adidas get their hands on the kit. In fact, please somebody at Adidas raise the issue. Its not too late. Even changing the colour of the lion to claret would make a big difference. The round badge is massively superior. On the plus side, the Betano logo is a lot better.
  21. I had the thought of building over Witton Lane with the road running through a tunnel through the stand. That means acquiring a row or 2 of the houses on the other side of the road but could mean hitting the 55-60k number with the existing North Stand plans.
  22. The North Stand alone needs TLC from Peter Sutcliffe.
