    Serbian kid was starting in CL matches already (and did a great job vs City) though been injured for long time, must be thinking he's gonna get up and running quite quickly. But yea bit of a surprise regardless

    So the recent reports were saying we'd be looking for another winger, seems like Leeds are out of automatics and will have a hard time in playoffs, we've already been linked with Summerville last season, wouldn't be surprised we come back if they don't go up.

    More exciting to progress in UCL but I'm pretty sure we'll have less memories/success because of it, as dropping to UEL would probably resulted in more realistic chance of winning trophies, given Emery's success at that level.

    Any Ekstraklasa fans? There's been lots of talk of Sinisalo having a good season, but Zych seems to have become guaranteed starter for Puszcza, Ekstraklasa seems to be about Championship level I'd think, definitely better than League 1 I think, just judging on Polish results in Europe lately. Hopefully another promising keeper

    It's not nonsense its how probabilites work lmao. Spurs have incredibly tough fixtures so of course if they win few matches they don't expect things will swing.

    There's no dropping to UEL anymore in the new format, but it's far likelier to qualify into playoff rounds with 24 teams going through. Basically the teams that would end up 3rd and move to UEL will move through next phase in CL.

    Spurs didn't benefit? They went from mid-table team in 90s and 00s to having revenue that can challenge United and Liverpool. That is insanity what CL did for Spurs. And now with the new FFP rules that set wages in the club based on revenue earned Spurs are in fantastic position to actually achieve something in coming years. In big part thanks to multiple CL qualifications in 10s.

    What do you disagree with? If you want to grow a brand and the fans are asking why are you Chelsea is that not a problem in your eyes?

    Go to any social media where the Villa round badge was shown prominently, everyone was mentioning it asking why we are having Chelsea badge suddenly. That's the power of branding, we can't be associated with Chelsea that's why it has to go.

    Imagine spending millions on all the marketing agencies all the fan participation just to end with with tiny derivative of the Lerner badge... the round badge had to go it was too similar to Chelsea unfortunately, but this is uninspiring.

    Bild reports that Emery and De Zerbi are Bayern's favourites after Nagelsmann rejection last week. It's only natural to have him linked to big clubs after what's he's done with us and while I don't think he'd ever consider any other English clubs Bayern could be tempting I suppose. But seeing he celebrates our wins even more than most of our fans I think we'll be good

    Gotta say I'm not sure what's the point of investing in the Australian side. Small population, talent spread our among ridiculous amount of competitive sports over there, AFL is king, rugby, cricket, swimming etc. There hasn't been much Australian talent of note lately (hopefully we got the best one lol). Not sure there's much profits to be made on Aussie soccer either but could be well wrong. The MLS franchise seemed to have made more sense in all aspects.

Had dodgy Russian owner funding the team. 35 years straight in Eredivisie now starting from nothing. Seems a good fit, Netherlands perfect place to develop talent, something akin to Brighton's model using USG in Belgium.

    Emi became a football legend with his Copa and World Cup escapades but they were for Argentina, I'm so glad we have a similar feeling of him doing it in Villa shirt, pulls it alltogether
