  1. No way could he have stopped the second - watch it again. Richards lost his man - Bacuna was marking two players at the back post, which he had to leave and still almost got the challenge in to block Vardy's equaliser.
  2. Sort of - although Sanchez should track Drinkwater for the equaliser and Dyer is a wide playing so Hutton should be all over that for their winner (obviously Richards played a (bad) part here too). No, for the equaliser, Richards let Vardy get behind him when the ball was coming in - so much so that Bacuna had to leave the two men at the back post he was marking (Dyer and one other) to try and get a clearance in. Just watched the goal again and you can put that down to Richards not being able to track Vardy, Clever movement from Vardy though, the sneaky gobs****
  3. He'll probably have a stormer against Palace next game now. Will be interesting to see the change in opinion then! Yesterday, what some of you guys need to realise is what he was doing off that ball - he was chasing down anything that went near him. He didn't give Utd a moments rest in the middle of the park, and that's why he was completely faded during the second half. Added to that, he gave the ball away only once (as far as I can remember) and linked up very well with Gana and Westwood.
  4. Sublime pass on the half volley to right to set up an attack. The two or three freekicks he put into the box were very decent - if only Gestede was on the pitch to attack them at the far post.
  5. Jheeze some of you guys are really harsh. He didn't give the ball away much at all, and chased down the opposition at every single opportunity He faded quickly in the second half which is to be expected. .
  6. Looks like Bolasie on crack. Just what we need IMO
  7. Could go the other way too - Jack might learn to play with a bit more 'swagger' and hopefully embarrass defenders.
  8. What type of balloon ? Air. No helium or lead Yeah so it contained air. But what was the balloon itself constructed from? The finest rubber produced in the mystical land of China
  9. Jack and Gil went up the pitch to to produce a thriller Gestede latched on, hit the net... 1-0 to the Villa. I'm so sorry that is sooooo bad. Can't be any worse than last season (as a whole). I am not questioning the quality of the new players and am quite excited by some of them. My point is whether they can function as a team after so little time together. I don't know of any PL team that has ever started with 5-7 new players from the off - do you? Last years Southampton squad?

  11. Anyone remember when we played Fulham, the ball went up like 30/40 feet in the air - Berbatov just controlled it like a balloon as soon as it came down
  12. 10th would be a great start to this Sherwood revival
  13. Took him 18 months and even then he wasn't that great going forward. Excellent one on one defender though. But when he finally settled in, he was class. As a left back he didn't let much get past him. He and Ashley Young built up a very good partnership down the left hand side, at times when going forward he just needed to take a man away from Young when he was being doubled up on. Done his job tbh
  14. Did Gestede take the pens for Blackburn like Austin for QPR? AFAIK,when Rhodes was fit he took most of them?
  15. Not only in the air, he's also decent with the ball at his feet. When he gets the chance, the lad can strike a ball proper hard.
  16. ^ Might not have been his knees, was definitely his ankles.
  17. So Veretout is flying to the UK to have discussions With Villa? Is that where we are at this current moment in time?
  18. Wasn't that a free kick from near the half way line?
  19. Have you guys seen how many crosses Clark dealt with alone last season? How many times he got his head to the ball and cleared the danger? He played really well last season, he's made the step up. I think he'll become more and more influential at the club if he stays.
  20. He is a decent player, young athletic and picked up a few assists last season. He's the best crosser of a ball we have at the club

    Carles Gil

It was his ankle, he might have rolled it when he was pushed by the other player. Physio came on and checked it, Gil got up and then hobbled off to the dressing room

Picked up a slight knock, should be ok I think.
