Hmmm I disagree... I think if we were to buy 2 or 3 quality players in the summer we'd be comfortably mid-table. Then the summer after that bring in 2 or 3 more quality players and make a push for 8th. But I don't see Lerner allowing that. Lambert wouldn't buy 3 quality players. He would rather buy 10 shit ones for the same price

Harsh I think Stoke lay claim to that acolade Guess in terms of players who have come through our academy that have made our first team, its a bit of a golden generation but we haven't produced the same quality Southampton have. at least stoke were exciting to watch under pulis we dont even get that luxury

i think another manager could get them playing a better style of football. arsene wenger has been signing young players for ages and look how he had arsenal playing. even martinez at wigan, or di matteo at the albion both played a better style of football with average teams

He was the best of that golden generation of our academy which produced Bannan, Clark, Albrighton, Baker and Weimann. i did go to watch him in the next gen. he did look like he had something about him, he was more like a lampard, gerrard scholes type of player than an AM give him a run of games, whats the worst that could happen
