i too dont know what to make on nzogbia / wikipedia stats are that he scored 15 goals in 83 appearance for wigan, maybe he just desires a drive to perform by scoring goals, maybe push him forward into attack? surely hes got to have some us? :-/

cant see him getting much of a chance here when the time comes for him to step up, weve already got too many kids in midfield and competition for places high, maybe he can find another club to go out on loan to? dont we have a 'feeder' club?

if hes going to burn himself out, then imo, holman would be best on the right side of the 3 prong attack, switching between holman and weimann, one paying the the first half, one playing the second, theyre both capable of making an impact when in full flow

from whats been said on here, clark plays better at CB, plus i dont like the idea of playing baker and clark regulary tbh, unless we buy a new CB and clark improves and is willing to become a regular LB, but that isnt going to happen as why would PL buy a LB in bennett?

RB is definitely his spot now, with lichaj worth stepping in when hes injured, weve got a good RB and good back up RB, thats sorted, we cant complain

there seems to be some forwards in the german league worth looking at, bas dost, thomas muller, and even huntelaar, who im a fan of, but how does the german league compare to the premier league

nzogbia would probably be best on the left of a 4-4-2, or or the left of a 3 prong attack, with gabby on the right, benteke in the middle

bennett seems to weedy to even make a presence and stop any potential threat down that wing, stevens looks better but an internationally experienced LB would be a safer choice, but as already stated, a new LB in january is certainly not going to happen i think albrighton is still worth keeping though can see given going and a cheaper keeper being brought in, and unfortunately mybe bent being sold with yet another lower league no name inexperienced kid being brought in on peanuts - because thats good business when were fighting relegation, but we know as a club we really should be competing for europe

at what age do the youths get put on professional contracts from the youth scholarship? if its 18/19 then were looking at 22/23 if 4 yr contracts, even then isnt it around £5k to £10k per week?

i was just about to post actually, with him being 37/38, surely he will be retiring from playing soon? so will he be staying here as a coach, or going else where to ply the trade? so with guzan and siegrist, (and given looking to be leaving) were still going to need a 3rd keeper anyway, cant see this happening till the summer though, its not urgent

to add baker and derrick williams to that list as well, but between the 6 of them, none of them are world beaters

im slightly confused now about general opinion on here of what positions need strengthening (although whatever we say means nothing to what PL actually does in the window) weve already been linked to a few players but typical villa, theres nothing firm yet a few people, including me, said we need a left back, one has been mentioned, yet a few are saying we dont need a new LB even though its clear we are weak in this position same has been said about centre back a few have said we need a defensive midfielder, but we have herd, westwood, delph and even el ahmadi who can pay that role, so why do we need a fifth? a left winger has been mentioned, but we arent playing wingers now, were playing 3 strikers with one out wide, also, isnt it time to give carruthers a chance? and lastly, striker, if bent leaves, maybe so, but is the next striker going to be willing to sit on the bench behind benteke, gabby, andi and bowery?

if bent is sold, he will go to london, liverpool want daniel sturridge now, for an unbeleiveable £15m tbh, if we do sell bent, sturridge would be a good choice, well worth £15m as well

the players arent that bad, theyre just only good enough for a team fighting relegation oh wait...
