  1. Especially the victims - although the repressed memories may have something to do with that

  3. Always loved this particular variant of the BBC F1 intro too
  4. They like to write the theme tune...sing the theme tune, these two!
  5. I feel that in letting players like Lichaj go - a player that's never really let us down - Lambert must be looking to simply raise the standard of the squad overall. Not wanting players that can simply do a job in there must be at the forefront of his mind, otherwise why let the man leave. In regards to Eric himself, I wish him all the best at his next club. If I were a Hull or Crystal Palace type team I'd be taking a good look at him right now.
  6. I agree that the minimalist lion looks great, as does the round badge on the mock-up above, but I think we're lucky that the current badge is not bad as it happens. We could have an Everton style effort after all. I would like the blue on the badge to match the blue on the kit however...
  7. I doubt you'll manage to fill 100 pages by yourself
  8. The appointment of Pulis' successor will give a big clue of where Stoke, and the footballing world, view themselves. Will it be an out of work money spender like Hughes or MON, or will they try for a Zola or Poyet type?
  9. Luke, this is one of yours is it not? I like!!
  10. He's still on our books - only out on loan
  11. What are we to expect from GG? When fit, will he be like a new signing in the midfield, or will he be a squad player and occasional starter? Apart from the season under TSM where nobody excelled, I have no real clue what level this lad is (or could be) at.
  12. So what ever happened to McCann, anyway? Still around...
  13. Bennett and KEA are atrocious, Vlaar is a dodgy centre back, Bowery is way out of his depth, Westwood is hit and miss so I wouldnt Lambert is fabulous in the transfer market. He found Lowton and Benteke who have impressed but he could just as easily find us another Bennett and god forbid he does that again. I am not so sure signing people who Liverpool think wont cut it is a wise idea. We need some real quality in the middle of the park and at centre back. I appreciate we're all entitled to our own opinion first of all. My opinion is Vlaar is being judged too early, it's his first season in the PL and he suffered an injury mid way through. I'm hopeful he will be much improved next season. KEA and Bennett look ropey, i wouldn't expect an improvement from KEA but Bennett is still young enough to improve. It's unfair to judge Bowery as he's seen so little game time. With Westwood i'd say he's been far more hit than miss. Lowton and Benteke speak for themselves they've been superb. if we're talking about Lambert's eye for a player, lest we not forget Sylla, who played a very important role in the run-in at the end of the season, and the re-signing of Guzan at the start. Guzan Lowton Bennett Vlaar Sylla KEA Dawkins (loan) Westwood Bowery Benteke 6 out of those 10 have improved the team imo, with Bennett and KEA with the potential to improve after a full season and pre-season in the PL. Dawkins will go back to his club and Bowery at worst has cost very little money, and again will benefit from a full season at a much higher level than he's used to. As a collective, they're all worth much more now than when signed - which makes a nice change at the Villa.
  14. Interesting, always thought he'd stay in the Premier League. I actually thought he'd end up at the Jawdees.
  15. Stoke fan on H&V asking Villa fans for opinions on MON, as they believe he could be appointed their next manager. Ha!
  16. Paul Lambert strikes me as an ambitious person. He's shown ambition in his playing career, and he's shown it in his managerial career thus far. He also strikes me as someone that has a plan. Now I'm not saying that Jay Spearing is part of that plan, based on a tweet about a rumour that he's being monitored - and as an aside, I'm not sure what 'monitoring' a player like Spearing means. He's not exactly a secret and he's not playing right now, so what exactly would they be monitoring apart from his own contract negotiations? With that in mind, that hardly sounds (if there's any truth to the tweet in the first place) like he would be a prize acquisition, if obtained. More of a calculated risk on a cheap player - however I digress.... The point is that Paul Lambert looks to have a plan, and if Jay Spearing is a piece of that plan then that's the manager's choice. Not this bollocks about ambition again. Rant over!
  17. No rejects, please. Unfortunately he fits right in at our level of ambition. Not this shit about ambition again based on a tentative rumour about a non-household named player!
  18. Start behind safety car. Boooo!!
  19. Wonder if Hamilton will be quick off the line again at the restart. Rosberg was slow at the original start so would expect Vettel to seize this opportunity and Hamilton to get past Webber.
