  1. If he goes to Newcastle, or anywhere I deem to be a club lesser than ours, I’ll be really annoyed. He’s such a good player. Yes, he might cost £40m, but you know what you’re getting for that and he’ll be so, so good in our side. So frustrating if we don’t get this over the line if there is even a whiff of it being a genuine opportunity. I think we’ll regret it. Provided he stays out of prison!
  2. You reckon this is going to be Traore all over again, mate?
  3. Some of the comments on Twitter really are scathing about him. Most people are saying that if we watch him tonight we’ll change our mind and won’t want to sign him…
  4. I take it we’re all watching the game later?
  5. That’s the line we’ll be pedalling if we sign him for sure! This one worries me the more you read into it. Their fans seem to really dislike him and don’t really think he’s a defensive midfielder.
  6. Nope. Bailey played predominantly on the right the season before we signed him and that’s where his father stated he likes playing the most, so that’s where I assume he sees himself here. Doesn’t matter where he played before. I imagine Cash played more as a winger than a right back in his career at Forest but we signed him as a right back. We spent £70m on those two, along with £25m on Ings so we didn’t have to field the likes of Traore, Trezeguet and El Ghazi. And, come the end of the Summer, I imagine all three will be gone as we’ll have improved even further. Stop with the bullsh** just to suit your agenda. The fact we signed who we did in the Summer is proof the club didn’t back our forward players.
  7. Maybe, maybe not. We’ve spent a lot of money over the past 3 years and we’ve bought a few players that I don’t think have been great purchases.
  8. I’m just weary of the fact that Bentancur and even Kamara are an unknown to this league and it will take time for them to settle and even then they might not be an upgrade on Luiz. Buy cheap, buy twice. If we can afford it, £40m on Bissouma and you’ve got one of the best in the division if not the world in that position, probably for the next 5 years. Bissouma, McGinn and Ramsey is a fantastic midfield 3.
  9. I think we’ll lose Sanson and Luiz in the Summer.
  10. He makes the wrong decision nearly all of the time.
  11. I know the pain. Quick one, has anyone ever seen Delphinho and Percy in the same room together?
  12. 25m Villa? Seriously, just give them 40 and get it done. Provided he doesn’t go to prison, he’s one of the best in the Prem at his position.
  13. If Bissouma is available for £40m, we should be all over it.
  14. If we’ve bid for Bissouma it means we’ve probably had a discussion with his agent and he’s happy enough to join. That’s a positive. He’s my number 1 target for that position. Unfortunately, it looks like Bentancur will happen.
  15. I hope he continues to flop because that £100m is all the more sweeter if he does. I do genuinely wonder if he regrets it or not. Obviously, there is the money, but he’d be filthy rich either way.
  16. Of course there are examples where it goes well, albeit I wouldn’t say Westwood has gone on to be a roaring success, just a decent lower half PL player.
  17. FWIW, I don’t really buy into the idea that just because Lange and co. want a player, that it’s the right player and the right signing. History is littered with mistakes in the transfer window for every club and just because somebody is deemed an expert in their field, doesn’t mean they always get it right. Take SAGE for example If we sign Bentancur, fair enough, I’m sure they’ve done their research, but it could be a mistake, we just don’t know yet. Personally, I’m a little worried by the comments from Juve fans about his ability. I hate it when you sign a player from a club whose fans are really happy about the deal. I’d hazard a guess that more often than not, said player doesn’t do well at the new club. Digne is an example of the reverse. Everton fans were gutted to lose him and he’s been very good for us so far - as expected. I dunno man, I just feel like Kamara/Bissouma are better options?
  18. I think this could be the case. Luiz is decent and losing him now is annoying as he’ll be coming into his prime but we have to sell him in the Summer if he’s not going to sign a new deal.
  19. Fair enough. My view was probably a bit ignorant. I do think it’s a massive step up still.
  20. I disagree. Buendia was brought in to play alongside Grealish. It would have been those two behind Watkins had Grealish not have left. The club knew we weren’t good enough in the final third even with Grealish here.
  21. No it didn’t, we spent 70m on two right sided forwards 12 months after he was signed.
  22. He’s sometimes sloppy and careless on the ball but he was a rock yesterday. When your midfield loses the ability to pass or keep the ball and you’re being bombarded, Mings is your man. He played very well.
