  1. Can't knock some of the finishing in that. Some lovely goals in there.
  2. Let's say Dembele is quite good. As good as Ings, or better at some things and perhaps a little inferior at others. But near enough the same quality. Selling Ings for £15m and getting his 125k weekly wages off the books and signing Dembele for £3m on say, 80k a week, seems like decent business, no? Maybe then in the Summer we go all out on a new striker, perhaps selling Watkins to help raise funds? I don't know. But maybe, just maybe, we're doing some smart business here.
  3. Loving this positivity, HK. It's infectious. TODAY IS THE DAY
  4. Maybe they want it to drag out, further weakening Russia?
  5. Where would he start for us? Behind the striker?
  6. I think Buendia and Bailey have both disappointed on the whole since joining. If they don’t improve, or at least find some consistency to their game, both won’t be starting for us next year. I think Bailey *might* come good, but I strongly believe that Buendia just lacks the tools to be a top half PL player and quite frankly, he often looks like a championship player to me. We’ll see. Both have started a lot of games under Emery. This might be due to a lack of options or it could be that he likes them. It’ll be interesting to see what happens when McGinn is fit again.
  7. Should we be at all worried that Lyon want rid so much? Or is it just that his contract status is a problem for them and they want to try and recoup some money now… I’d usually defer to Pissflaps on the matter, but seeing as he’s gone, I have no idea who to ask anymore.
  8. Nor me. He’s perhaps an unfortunate casualty because I really like him and he’s not a bad player. He was a cracking signing for the money we paid. But he has his limits. At the end of the day, if all our players were up to it, we’d have finished in the top half of the league by now. We haven’t, and players like Cash, Konsa, Luiz, Buendia are not good enough to get us there I don’t think.
  9. If ever somebody was going to replace Pissflaps, it’s Hank Scorpio. A man’s man.
  10. It would have taken you less time to google that it wasn’t than it did to write that post.
  11. I wonder what the sentiment would have been had we been linked last Summer. Like you say, after that strong season. I don’t really know much about him. I’ll be behind it if Emery wants him.
  12. Hold on, didn’t he sign said players?
  13. Since when does a manager choose a sporting director. I always assumed the sporting director was the boss and the manager worked with what he proposed...?
  14. It's strange how they always seem to 'understand' after the fact.
  15. I think our transfer policy over the last couple of years has been poor tbh. That isn't a reaction to selling Ings. I believe that deal represented value given his age and wages. But why did we sign Ings? That is the question. Why did we let three wingers go and not replace them? Who scouted Olsen? Who thought Buendia, Bailey and Ings could replace Grealish' output? So many questions. We bounce around from policy to policy dependent on the manager. It's slapdash and we always have to press the reset button whenever a manager eventually leaves. We're not the worst in the league, but our net spend and wage spend in relation to our league position isn't pretty. We could be a LOT better at the transfer thing.
  16. They'll have a list of maybe 2/3 strikers they want. If they're not available in Jan, we'll wait until the summer. I actually don't think we'll replace Ings now. I'd much rather see us go for a Deulofeu type.
  17. Yeh. Usually posts sensible stuff. Surprised he's gone down this route.
