  1. I mean a player that doesn’t mind dropping into the gap between the midfield and Watkins. Watkins is better playing off the last man and running the channels.
  2. That’s the reason we shouldn’t have signed him in the first place. He’s had big issues with his knees in the past hasn’t he? I think we were relatively lucky with his injuries, but that right there shows why getting the money we did and the wages off his books was such a good deal.
  3. I don't expect him to be an attacking force, I just expect him to be able to run a little bit quicker, be MUCH stronger and to be able to dribble and beat a man. He has none of those attributes. Honestly, if we're looking for our wide midfielders/forwards to just run around off the ball and tackle then McGinn starts ahead of him every day of the week. Players that cost £38m should also be able to do a lot more than he does. He'll be replaced in the starting XI soon.
  4. That's fine. I can understand why you'd think that. I think we can both agree though that in order to get better, we need to bring in players that either replace them or push them to be more consistent? I still have hope for Bailey - albeit it's fading.
  5. Fine, let's go... That's just not true. He's the worst player in our first XI, followed by Bailey. This is the case most weeks. Both are going to probably be replaced this window, or at the very least, both will have serious competition for a place in the side.
  6. Yeh, I used to like the Villa View back in the day. I stopped listening after the one lad left and the Irish guy took over.
  7. This guy don't know anything. Seems like a decent bloke but can't remember him giving us anything of any note in a transfer window. He wants to be that guy, but just isn't.
  8. He's definitely one we could have back next season. If we got a decent bid for Dendoncker, we should let him go and bring back Iroegbunam. I actually think he'd be perfect in the system we play as he could play as any one of the 4 across the middle given he likes to drive at players.
  9. When he's back fit, I think he might come in for Buendia. Ramsey won't be dropped I can't imagine.
  10. Really? Why? We haven't lost a first team player yet and McGinn will be back soon who can play a number of positions. We also have Carlos returning. We're also out of all cup competitions. This fascination with having a big squad is lost on me. I'd honestly rather focus on having a core group of say 13/14 good players and the rest made up with talented youngsters like Duran. We're not at the point where we can afford to have players earning 125k+ a week sitting on our bench - we have two of those still.
  11. Outgoings are more important than incomings though. We need to get to a position where we can attack the Summer market without worrying about offloading players and the effect those players have on potential signings. Personally, I'd like to see Digne's and Coutinho's wages off the books. I also think we might see the sale of one of Bailey or Buendia if a suitable offer comes in.
  12. He's not, and he could do with some competition, but he's young, dynamic and has an eye for a goal. He's one of our better players as things stand.
  13. Christ, that's the last thing we need. I'm out.
  14. I think they want silly money for him don't they? I've heard good things though.
  15. This could (almost certainly is) be absolute nonsense... Translates as.. Aston Villa, who still wants to recruit Guendouzi, would be ready to include one of their players in addition to a sum of money! Not sure which player they'd want as part of a swap..!? Anyway. Discuss.
  16. Not until they can perform consistently to a higher level. I see all three as our weak links most weeks tbh. I'm really hoping Bailey can get better but Buendia doesn't have the tools to succeed at the level we want to be at. Almost given up completely on Coutinho.
  17. I know we don’t play this formation, but this is starting to come together… ————————Watkins———————— Ramsey——————————————New ————Guendozi————Luiz————— —————————Kamara——————— Moreno——Mings——Carlos——Young ————————Martinez———————— I know Emery is very fluid in his set up but I think he’s building up to something like the above. Not sure. Future is bright though! (If we sign Guendouzi)!
  18. There’s no way Ramsey loses his place. He’ll be in the side ahead of Buendia, McGinn and Bailey.
  19. This is the way I see it. There has to be something very close for us to let him go, considering Nakamba has been completely frozen out (I expect him to leave in the next couple of days). I was never that fussed about Ings leaving and not getting a replacement as I think we can make do (+ the deal represented good value). This is different. We’ve let Sanson go because something has been agreed or close. I can’t see it any other way. Oh, and the fact Marseilles have agreed to sign a midfielder on the same night we've let one of our midfielders go, given we’re linked to Marseilles midfielder is pretty suspicious..
  20. He’s heeded the call! Delphinho strikes again!
  21. It’s nothing to do with the bloke as a person. I wish he’d just bugger off somewhere else so we can sign somebody!
  22. It’s quite a smart deal if the thinking is they don’t want to get ripped off in the Summer. If they sell Guendouzi for £35m or whatever, teams know they have money. Getting his replacement now means they can let Guendouzi go and…chill.
  23. I’d put striker third, if not fourth on the list. The priority for me is winger and support striker.
  24. Injury record is a concern I’m led to believe. Certainly a good player though whenever I’ve watched him.
