  1. I'm certain the changing room mentality will be 'Close the gap on Arsenal' rather than 'distance ourselves from Spurs' and I think it's a mentality even the fans of 'big' teams adopt. Easier said than done, and I know it's unusual for us, but us fans should try to adopt the same mindset.
  2. Aside from street football, bike races, and pretty much every other street game you could imagine, we used to climb up the frame of the railway footbridge in our street and then jump off onto MOVING COAL TRAINS, landing in the coal. Looking back on it, I'm amazed we all got through it injury/death free. The train operators didn't report us and nobody's parents put an end to it - different times.
  3. Although I thought we were the better team today, the fact we play like we're 3-0 up when we're behind is getting frustrating. Don't like to single out players, but Cash will be gone in the summer. I don't care about his occasional goals anymore. He simply doesn't have the football IQ and Unai knows it - you can't teach that. Referee was abysmal today, too. Didn't give us a sniff. Anyhow, on to the next!
  4. That was four years prior to the Tom Petty half-time show. The run following the Janet Jackson incident was top drawer though: McCartney, Rolling Stones, Prince, Tom Petty, Springsteen, The Who. Not a big fan of the Stones but, still, compare those six acts to the crap we've been served up since.
  5. The 49ers have ruined this Super Bowl. Would have been far more intriguing with the Lions.
  6. I mean, in fairness, it is mostly luck. Good ol' calculated luck (I failed to make the playoffs in two other leagues I'm in, including a last place finish in one of them!)
  7. I get this. Who could possibly forget, in January 2009, when we spured the chance to sign Falcao (because we wouldn't fork out £5m) from River Plate and, instead, opted to sign Heskey from Wigan for £3m... However, I've never been more secure in the knowledge we have the best people in the right places. I've never felt so trusting of our ownership and recruitment staff (Unai included). We'll do what we need to do, within the rules we're bound by. We're in good hands; arguably the best in the league.
  8. The loan back may be a work permit points situation.
  9. Sky Sports News just did a breaking news thingy saying this is done.
  10. At least Philly stacked it too. I can live with that.
  11. At least there will be literally zero post-match coverage due to the up-coming 4:30pm match participants...
  12. Really poor refereeing there. Not sure I've ever seen so much shirt pulling going unpunished. Frustrating day. Don't think we did a lot wrong, other than a lack of urgency at the end.
  13. The marketing team would love it. Free Bardghji with every Balti Pie, etc etc.
  14. I've said it before and i'll say it again, I'd much rather we brought in the right players than literally any players to fill the gaps. Sometimes going out and buying five players in January can be fun for us as fans, but it can also de-stablise a squad. Not always, but it can. I feel it's a case of seeing if any business can be done with the targets we have (in terms of price/availability/contract status in the summer) and, if not, we attack the loan market in the final week as plug-ins for the next six months. Again, with the loans, Unai will want a certain level of proven quality - perhaps those not in the plans at their parent club (perhaps because a new manager came in and they don't fit the tactical style), but who are also not sellable because of their contract status.
  15. Oh, sweet mercy. FINALLY! I've waited my whole life for this.
  16. I actually like the shoulder stripes, but if they did the side of shirt stripes instead (and perhaps even the old 'Trefoil' logo), I'd be more than okay with it. They just always get the sizing right and that's the main thing.
  17. I don't care who it is, as long as they're true to size and not skin tight. Adidas seem to be the only manufacturer who get it right in this respect, sadly, but apparently we're not allowed them.
  18. They're all either set to 'Youngster' or 'Hot Prospect' on mine
  19. I'm happy it's not only happening to me. They need to sort it out. I currently have eight 16 year olds in the under 18s wanting to leave because I didn't register them for the Champions League.
  20. I get it literally every single registration window and have done for several versions now. It's so annoying. It's often young players I've purchased for the youth set-up, rather than the yearly academy intake. They're on youth contracts too (and squad status), so I can't figure out what's going on. I think the programmers have just overlooked something.
  21. Neymar's moved to Brentford on my save... (he moved there in season 2!) Also, I really wish they'd sort out the problem where, after every registration window, you get about eight 16 year olds with no prior 1st team experience, complaining about not being registered for European competition. It's so unrealistic. Also, does anybody know if you can still get experienced 1st team players to take youngsters under their wing? I don't seem to be able to find the option anymore.
  22. BBC not even bothering to interview Unai. Pricks.
