  1. The reason is simple. Here's how it's been going: Anti-Pearson posters post about how much they hate Pearson because he's a cock. Others rebut this with evidence that other managers have been like that and been successful. Then Anti-Pearson posters post about how it's all about Pearson's managerial record and nothing to do with his personality, why can't people see the point? Then someone like DaveJ posts with good comments about Pearson's recent and impressive managerial record (certainly by our standards, and even more so now we're a Championship club). Then someone like you posts about how you're baffled why people don't get your point - you don't want Pearson because he's a cock.
  2. McLeish only lasted 65 days at Zamalek!
  3. Or winning the European Cup, and giving the manager who left at the quarter-final stage the credit...
  4. We played Leicester in the FA Cup and they were much the better team in the first half. Had they been more clinical they could've finished us by half time. It's worth remembering that the season you're quoting was Leicester's first season in the division with Pearson. Ranieri took over a team used to the the Prem with some experience under their belts of not just the division but playing alongside each other. Prem experience is useful, but as we've found out isn't the complete package on its own. Experience of both the division and playing alongside each other and knowing each others game is, I think, a good combination. For those wondering about the worst combination, see our end-of-season DVD.
  5. I think I'll look up the 5000-1 option and have a cheeky £10 on it.
  6. My dentist recommended an electric toothbrush. It's been great advice. I would never go back to a manual toothbrush.
  7. After Gestede was giving out food for the homeless, I heard Gabby came back later and stole it back.
  8. Lerner's asking price is rather high.
  9. The interested party has rocked up to Villa Park for talks.
  10. You have missed something relevant. Gabby is a man well paid to do frankly, not much at all. The very minimum you expect of him if that he is the appropriate physical condition to do his job. Doesn't your employer expect you to be the same? If you're in no fit state to conduct your duties, don't you think that's a problem? This isn't a pocket tweet. It gets to the heart of your personal ethics. Your attitude. Who you are as a man. Sent on a two week fitness program? What the **** does he do all day? He has all day every day to stay fit. People work full time jobs and go to the gym. There are bodybuilders who eat the right thing and all manner of things to prepare for contests. Schwarzenegger said he would be five hours a day in the gym. Five hours! He wouldn't stop until he was the best. Now there's a man for you. A man with drive, determination and a will to win. He wanted to eke out every iota of his potential. A man who wastes an hour doesn't know the value of life. This fat **** is **** coasting. His ethics stink. His attitude stinks. When you are unfit to do the job you know you are supposed to do (i.e. be ready and available for selection for your team) and the circumstances of your lack of fitness are entirely within your control, you are what is known as a **** disgrace. But it's worse. He's club captain. You are not just any pro. You are a person who should lead by example. You are right to say that if we were playing brilliantly this season nobody would care. But we aren't. We - and he - have been shit all season. Gabby has more suspensions than goals. That leads me to believe he should he doubling his efforts to be the best player he can be, no? He is a spoilt rotten little shit. He has no pride in the privileged job he gets to do. He even has no pride in himself as a man. I listened to Stan Collymore on Talksport last night - a big confessional it was too. Stan let off a fire extinguisher at Leicester's training camp. Others called Martin O'Neill at two in the morning as a prank. O'Neill demanded names next day. He told them (paraphrasing) 'you guys haven't done enough in the game to be behaving like that.' BINGO! You want to **** around, be my guest! But you better in in the Leicester or Spurs team, or Cristiano Ronaldo. If you're not even average this season, but you and you're team are some of the worst shower of shit ever to grace this league, you should be redoubling your efforts. Especially if it's for a club you profess to love. Would YOU be behaving like this after this type of season as a Villa fan? I know I wouldn't. Where have ethics gone? Drive? Determination? Decorum. The basics of being a **** man for Christ's sake. Players flat out on roads, partying in Dubai, offering fans out for fights, tweeting pictures of their new car - have these **** no shame! Where have values gone like pride in the job you do, the example you set for others and being the kind of man you'd want your children to be proud of and copy? It's not the partying, per se. It's the partying in context of his idleness, physical neglect, personal negligence and all-round idle ****. I am utterly astonished by your post. In fact, I suspected you were Gabby until I saw you could construct a declarative English sentence. I can assure you - I would be ashamed to conduct myself in his manner. I don't earn as much as him and I've got my flaws, but I would be cognizant of the position I am in and stnad up and be counted. The only thing you count on Gabby is the spare tires. You know his age by counting the rings around his **** midriff.
  11. I bet you cant do much in Brazil without vested interests (gangs, politicians, mayors, police) sticking their nose in for a payoff. People be more tolerant of such corruption in upswings (i.e. when Lula was in). Now people are struggling and want to challenge those receiving their bribes. When you're struggling for half a loaf, why be happy for the guy skimming ten loaves who has a full belly every night?
  12. King's letter turns the process of sliding the knife between the ribs into a fine art. He actually makes clear that the club needs to be rid of Lerner because he's the roadblock to reform. It's blockbuster stuff said in King's usual reserved and measured way. He learned that from having to watch his words at the Bank of England, I expect.
  13. Nobody is clean is indeed correct. But ultimately this (I think) is really a product (not the cause) of a larger disaffection. As usual, promises are made to the people about the prosperity that can be delivered by government. Now that emerging markets are in trouble and the rising dollar makes Latin dollar-denominated debts harder to pay, people's anger boils over. If things were going well, people would just reason the corruption away.
  14. The US is the standard pantomime villain for Latin American countries taking a dive, of course. Venezuela has turned this propaganda into a fine art.
  15. There's an old saying. Brazil is the country of tomorrow and always will be.
  16. Joss Ackland's Spunky Backpack.
  17. He's spending a lot of time in America now due to his divorce but he's liasing with the Board.
  18. Is this part of the fitness regime the club has given him? Surely there's grounds here to sack this fool. He's milking the club and laughing.
  19. Bet it's players partying and laughing after relegation. Unless the Sun has found failures in Hollis' negotiation strategy and has brought in a corporate finance expert to explain those failings in layman's terms.
  20. Might have to watch the Press Preview stuff on BBC/Sky News.
  21. It would take Wang to make Lescott and Richards into a Great Wall.
  22. Brian Little's Red and Red Army!
