  1. Lambert does have a history of playing a bigger club, beating them, then becoming their new manager. Perhaps that's his strategy to get a better job and he's worked it again 8) I think he's done a terrific job with the Canaries and I'd be happy to see him arrive. However, I would like to see the scouting network improved too. A manager can't sign players he doesn't know about.
  2. It's not about him talking the club down, it's about him nearly TAKING the club down. That's more than enough of him for my liking.
  3. http://uk.eurosport.yahoo.com/01052012/58/liga-barcelona-world-best-paid-players.html According to new figures collated by the highly-respected industry analysts Sporting Intelligence, Barcelona's first team squad earn an average of £101,160 a week - that's over £10,000 a week more than at any other club, playing any sport, anywhere in the world. Second on the list is Real Madrid, whose players are far behind on a meagre £90,859 each, while Manchester City (£86,280) and Chelsea (£79,197) occupy third and fourth spots on the list. Basketball's LA Lakers are the best-paid non-footballers, squeezing in at fifth with £73,612. Baseball's New York Yankees are sixth (£72,093) despite having the world's best-paid team sportsman, Alex Rodriguez, on their books picking up a whopping £384,615 a week. The Yankees were number one when the list was originally published two years ago, but since then wages have been restricted across the Atlantic while in Europe the amounts demanded by top players has continued to rise. Manchester United are just outside the top 10, with first team players pocketing an average of £63,514, while Arsenal (£61,532) are 16th and Liverpool (£60,954) are 18th. The only other Premier League teams in the top 100 are Aston Villa at 41st (£47,401) and Tottenham at 51st (£44,394). Incredibly, AV has the 41st highest average wage taking into account all clubs in all sports.
  4. I remember thinking McLeish for Villa was a joke too.
  5. He'd probably say that Small Heath were in Europe whilst in the Championship so there's no reason we couldn't be in Europe also.
  6. A man who always gives his all for our cause and inspires nothing but good words from everybody he meets. Fight on Stan! This club stands shoulder to shoulder with you.
  7. Definitely like to see the Zog here. Loves to attack. Brings a bit of excitement and flair to our team.
  8. Maybe they know him privately?
  9. I'm with steaknchips on this one. I'd love to see Deschamps be the new Villa boss too.
  10. Sky Italia reporting that Luis Enrique is to be named manager of Roma. One path for Ancelotti blocked.
  11. Deschamps - - Ancelotti - - Rijkaard - - Villas-Boas - - Moyes
