But theres clear differences between drogba and benteke which makes benteke be nowhere near as effective? Drogba was just like lukaku + benteke combined. Even since the years of drogba, football has shifted a bit. The clubs and fans demand more on average. unless im missing some obvious team, the teams that do play direct CA football against certain teams much prefer a striker who isnt lazy and slow without the ball. Its been a few years now benteke been on the scene. If he was good enough he would have been snapped up by now. Its not like hes going for 50/60m+ here. The likelihood that all these top teams are just ignoring him and dont see this amazing striker who would be good enough for them is so slim that i think its time majority of villa fans stop over rating his ability

you ever thought that maybe, these teams thought he wasnt good enough for them for the price? i dont get all this liverpool is wrong move for him. If theres only two teams in for him, villa and liverpool,you take the move to liverpool. He played in a very limited villa side where he was the star who had clear limitations in his game for him to succeed at the top. you couldnt really tell if he could overcome those limitations given the style villa played. Liverpool was the side to show he could overcome these limitations, was a good move for him if he ever wanted to play for the elite teams, he failed. Just because it didnt work out for him doesnt mean it was a bad move

dont know if formatting error. but seems pretty sub-optimal to have any side with ozil not playing his best position. especially making him do the defensive work on the wing. And if you want ramsay to cover for him just seems natural to stick ramsey wide right with ozil in CAM. Let ozil defend further up so he can recieve the ball further up the pitch in transition quicker. and get ramsay to go back with FB\winger or tuck in Ramsay in that first team will totally depend if warchest is being spent or if wenger is going to take it to his grave. too hard to say now.

totally different roles for him at wales than at arsenal.. Ramsey just isnt good in a midfield two being the deep playmaker which he was asked to do a lot of this year at arsenal due to injuries. push him further forward in mid 3 or on wide right mid and hes good

benteke really wasnt going to get a move to a top team before he performs in a team which plays similar style to a (majority) top team. He tried that, he failed. Teams pushing for europa league is pretty much his level really just a shame we wasnt in the prem to resign him

Still got 3 years left on that contract i think which will take him to 33/34 years old. Doubt too many clubs in the world will be offering similar contract length for even 2/3 of the money. Dont even think rooney knows his best position anymore

I used to think i was slightly above intelligence when i was at school/uni..but now that ive finished...ive noticed myself become more and more stupid over time. Its pretty worrying..I used to be able to think much quicker and logical. I hope i dont follow this decline over future years. To me, maybe im in minority...but i watch football for entertainment. Much prefer all the money and getting stronger league with all foreign players for 38 weeks worth of entertainment every year instead restricting that for pride every two years in the summer.
