I'm actually calling them bitter because prior to the Man City links, this witch hunt didn't exist. It has nothing to do with being childish. Read the threads of 8 or 9 months ago before he resigned and note the absence of criticism and then the elation when he signed. And my opinion is that anyone who thinks Delph is inconsistent wouldn't know a footballer if one hit them in the face. People talk about his goals ratio-compared to whose? Gabby? Grealish? Weiman? When playing a tight 3 in midfield, the onus is not on those players to score. Nothing to do with being childish but you ask people how old they are? Given the responses of other people in this thread, and the lack of those so far saying hes been consistent for 2/3 years.....im glad im not the only one "who wouldnt know a footballer if one hit me in the face". Which a team competing on four fronts will not want. They had far more home grown players than Chelsea did last season (Chelsea "competed on four fronts" 5 men short) im pretty sure Chelsea ran insanely well/lucky with not getting many injuries last season (so the lack of depth of the squad wasnt stretched/tested allowing them to do better than arsenal/city as they had more of their first 11 squad on the pitch on average). The only player i can remember being significantly injured throughout was costa, and that was mostly towards end of the season when they had the season wrapped up Not saying that you are...but obviously looking at one season stretch of only 1 team to prove that you dont need a full-squad depth to "compete on four fronts" is incredibly results orientated, very selective and silly. Sample size is far too small for such a high-variance league

Well yeh, theyre having to register three total unknown HG players who will NEVER get onto the bench. Thats the whole point...The other teams have homegrown players who are a significant upgrade to the 3 of mancitys so they dont NEED to sign delph (or someone similar).... And this still has nothing to do with him being consistent over 2 years lol. im done. gg

And delph is infinitely better than the 3 HG players theyre going to have to register so 8m to replace one of them is worth it. To use your logic. why isnt EVERY team spurs+ in for him. 8m is an absolute steal for a "2 year consistent, england international, mancity-level wanted" player. If delph wasnt english, man city would not be interested. Hes just an ok squad-filler/backup player for the price talked so they dont have to register one of their terrible HG players. Still hasnt been consistent over 2 years for the role he plays for the side. Final edit and last thing ill say about this conversation (unless you make some redic silly comment): Interest from a team does not mean a player has performed consistently over a large timeframe.

lol at delph "consistently" performing. The fact hes won player of the season shows how shit weve been. The only thing delph has been consistently good at the past couple of years is being able to make it look like hes about to lose the ball and somehow dribble past 2 players with providing some god awful pass/shot in the final third and provide nothing for the team with attacking. He only improved in the final third a bit towards the second half of this season. obviously hope he continues. He was quite good at running around making rash tackles though edit: has benteke never won player of the season for us? How is that possible. Oh because you can never change or grow a huge love for a club to make you a big fan...Wasnt he like 10 when he supported Arsenal? And he probably only supported them because his dad did (or something). Even then...he clearly loves A.Villa so who cares if he supported some random club when he was a kid (or now) Carragher was/is an Everton fan and hes liverpool through&through now.

Benzema is better than benteke even if he does have a worse strike rate (or had). And that doesnt make all that much sense. A strike rate isnt transferable so saying "worse strike record for a much better club" is pretty irrelevant. Darren bent should have been sold for 50mil to barca in his prime. Im genuinely curious to those who think benteke is on Arsenal+ (or real/barca) class. How is he on par with saurez/ageuro/costa/benzema/rooney etc? Quick note: Heading/strength qualities are worth less for these teams so where is he making up qualities? Hes worse than all these running behind, hes worse at link up play, hes worse at finishing.

The cheapest he will ever be if he was RM/Barca class but all the elite scouts appear to not want him or rate him enough so they are all wrong in his talent. Or is it your opinion of his class which is wrong? Of course signing for liverpool will be a good option for benteke in terms of his career potential (probably be a bad move in terms of showing of his talent but w/e). The elite teams are only going to sign him if he shows he can score all these goals in a possession based side imo. If benteke is really as good as some of you suggest he is (which he is not, lolbarca&real class) then he can easily find a move in 2 years when hes signed for liverpool. he will be 26 then imo. Fighting for top 4 is his level. whether thats spurs/plop, or the arsenal of 2/3 seasons ago. Just currently....the top 4 are spending and are all literally fighting for the title where benteke isnt going to be the edge that pushes one of them teams to first so wont be worth the investment for them. Only way he'll be good enough for top 4 team is if a team decides to play like old Mourinho Drogba style which just isnt an acceptable style anymore for current title-contenders with all the money involved.
