  1. Villains and Raiders has some symmetry, so there’s a connection both to the NFL team and the club just by adding an i. Don’t know if they’d use club colors or try to match Allegiant and the Raiders by going silver and black.
  2. No it wasn’t. The standard home badge stuck out like a sore thumb. Fabric quality was worse. Logos washed off after a few washings.
  3. Legends don’t leave their club 2 weeks before the season kicks off. They don’t annually play this flirting game with other clubs then spout “My City. My Club.” and bat eyes at the next suitor less than a year later. Good for the neighborhood kid, go make money. You can go cheer for City. I’ll be here with Villa.
  4. Agree. If he does go, though, the longer it takes for it to happen, the worse it is for the club as it has to react and move in whatever contingency players it spotted. If we are to sign people, I want to do it in this window: 100m spent in the summer goes a hell of a lot farther than the same amount in January’s window. Based on that, I’m going to assume I’d he’s leaving he’d make the decision earlier. I will say that if Kane stays at Tottenham after that farewell lap, and Grealish goes 10 months after signing a new deal….well, umm, **** football.
  5. Grealish had broken through when Fabian did….all THAT *waves hand in air*. He should know that if he follows that “my city my club” talk by **** off to City, his name will be mud in many places. For someone who loves Villa, that should be a cautionary tale. but, I’m also ascribing wisdom to a 25 year old, and I can assure you nobody knows a damned thing until they’re 30 (and thus too old to be of athletic value). Mortality is a bitch. Impotent rage, even more so.
  6. To those wondering, "If there is a deal agreed, why won't they announce it?" I have no inside knowledge (I never lived in London, much less had a flatmate there), but I will say, from a PR perspective, it is very good for Jack to not have a deal announced. If/when a deal is announced, the next Speculation Target will get their turn on the wheel. Having his name in the press gets Jack more exposure: that gets him more deals, and that gets him more money and even more exposure. At the same time, not announcing the deal does no harm to Villa. So if everyone wanted to wait until end of Euros to make an announcement, there's no real blowback in comparison to the net positives it gets your best player. Might be worth doing for that sake alone, as getting him future publicity is also good for us. Take it for what you paid for it.
  7. Arsenal fan runs my kid’s football academy. Usually gives me a fair amount of stick over being a Villa fan in America (he’s English at least). not so much stick the past few weeks as he watches the Captain do his work. Green with envy now.
  8. This year's feels about the same to me as last year's, maybe a tiny bit smaller in the chest but that could just be within the acceptable margins. The longer sleeves are noticeable but if you've got longer arms, they're wonderful.
  9. They still have 3XL for those of us who are 6’5” and have shoulders so God bless them. I’m drunk and ordered a McGinn away kit which may be the only one that comes to the US
  10. Damn them for not shipping to the United States of Corona.
  11. Hell, I don’t want to be involved in another relegation battle either!
  12. It’s a GK kit likely? also, sometimes the edges of the logos don’t get finished by heat transfer. I had a Benteke when we had the white/purple quarter kit where the B wasn’t pressed down. This is why god invented tea towels and irons so you can DIY.
  13. I agree completely. And, I ordered a Grealish 10, as I opted for Delph instead of Grealish for the FA Cup Final and always regretted it. Way I figure it is this: that kit with the PL badge doesn't exist without his work, he's our captain, he led us as Captain to promotion and safety, why not? I'll get McGinn #7 on the black change strip for fun, even if he's gone. Screw it: I live in Arkansas, who will know. And for the 3rd? Well, that's where my son's name goes.
  14. Half of this thread is like twitter: thirsty bastards trying to see how much they can demonstratively hate the kit in a hunt for clout.
  15. I’m guessing that we haven’t seen the kit yet because the 2nd sponsor wasn’t/isn’t inked and was PL contingent. Cazoo’s deal hopefully was worth more for us to be up than not, but a sleeve sponsor would likely be one or the other.
  16. They didn't play that way today, and won anyway. You play the team that shows up, not their position in the league. The Arsenal that showed up today can and should've been beaten. Ask Norwich about playing the team on the day.
  17. Random question for everyone: Anyone international able to track their order of a shirt? I got a notice Thursday that my kit had shipped, the website says shipped but tracking isn't on for the order. I'm in the US and have been able to track in the past.
  18. Well, that's me committed to my path then, cheers for the fast reply. We'll start with 3XL. I mean, never mind I wear Medium-Tall as a cut when it's available: in Kappa's world I am a disgusting fat body a la Private Pyle in Full Metal Jacket. Now, if you'll excuse me I have to go eat 18 jelly donuts.
  19. Let me ask this: Has anyone who actually has the new training tops/kits compared themselves to the sizing chart and is it running true? I understand comparisons between various years, but I'm ordering from overseas and looking for experience where someone says "I am X size on this chart and I SHOULD wear this, but I actually had to wear THIS size." My height of 6'5" says I should have a 4XL, my chest size of 44 says between XL and 2XL so I'd bump up to 2XL there. Any help would be appreciated before I go throwing money overseas: I want a personalized kit, and right now I'm facing having to order a kit as a "test," then return it and order one in whatever size it seems will work and have it personalized and that sounds.....not fun.
  20. I've seen worse logos, I guess? Seen better, too.
  21. Nike has always been a pretty true fit for me, depending on how tall you are and the length of your arms and the size of your shoulders you might go a size up to account for length issues. When I was an XL in sizing I had to buy a XXL to make sure the length at the waist and arms was right. I'm 6'5" just for reference.
  22. Sinclair to score anytime is about 9/1 at my book WHY YES THANK YOU I WILL
  23. The transfer fee funds were just resting in his account.
  24. Playing behind the US back line is far better experience for a GK than taking a trip to Swindon or Walsall in preseason.
  25. Holy shit, there is someone who is paid good money to advise this man and this is what they came up with? I gotta get a new job.
