  1. He seems to have a much better developed football brain than Andre. His touch and vision are pretty good. He is very direct. If Andre can develop over time then it may become a fair comparison but he has a way to go.
  2. Do you think Jack might be wishing he joined Spurs? More chance of getting a game!
  3. Not enough love being shown for this guy. You always get a bolter who comes from nowhere to be ace. My money is on him. Hope we get him
  4. I know. When are we gonna sign someone who’s biggest asset is knowing how to put wor boots on!
  5. Oh to be a billionaire? You buy a football club and then spend a summer buying player after player after player just for the fun of it. Wes and Nas are playing real life Football Manager and I am lovin it!
  6. I still think and hope that this will happen. As I have previously stated, he wants the premier league and Stoke probably want him off the wage bill. How many PL teams are in for a new GK? Answer........not many. How many of those have their training ground close to the city of Lichfield where he lives........? Waiting game in play!
  7. I am not sure it is quite “very dire”, although it is concerning. So long as Hause, Chester and Connor are fit, then we are ok.
  8. Gets a clean slate from me. There is talent there and Deano may just get the best out of him.
  9. If Bruce was still here we’d be signing him to play alongside Whelan!
  10. You need to brush up on your theology. The grave could not hold him. It’s kinda what it’s all about
  11. It will all happen. Stoke want to sell Butland and he wants to sign for us. Same with Tyrone and Bournemouth. The Webster one is trickier because it appears that Bristol want to keep him and the Philips one is even more tricky because Leeds want to keep him and it looks like he wants to stay. The club will have suitable alternative solutions if required. Hopefully the days of the little black book are gone for good!
  12. I think Smith will get them to gel fairly quickly and they will definitely work hard for each other. I trust the management to make the right decisions. The number of injuries will maybe dictate how well we do. There is a real drop in quality beyond those listed. Hopefully we can pick up some cheap project players plus a couple of loans to pad us out a bit (I know Purslow said no loans but needs must). Either way it’s an exciting pre season and hopefully an exciting season awaits. Good times !
  13. It’s mainly the midfield where we lack height. I didn’t realise Anwar was so tall. It will be interesting to see how Wesley does when defending corners. Tammy always did a great job for us last year.
  14. Read my post mate. It was an observation. I didn’t say that it won’t work. I don’t know enough about the players to comment and thus we have to trust the management.
  15. That is one very inexperienced PL team. It’s also quite diminutive. I don’t know enough about any of the players but I guess we have to trust the management. Four key players from last year in it which is important.
  16. No chance. He is the beating heart of our team. I don’t believe it either but just in case it is true........they can well and truly jog on
  17. I know that I am about to get a loud of stick for this but it’s Saturday night, I have had a few and I am watching the Killers rock Glastonbury, so bugger it. This guy gets unnecessary stick in my view. He gets his head down, works hard, is very professional, never moans and is diligent in his work. I thought he did really well in the final third of the last season and I also think he is a good man to have in the squad. There. I said it. Tin hat on
  18. Now that BCFC have a bit of cash, I wonder if we could close the transfer circle by selling them Hogan for £15m?
  19. I remember all those years ago that big Ron signed a left back from Liverpool who their fans thought was too slow and weak. My Dad took me to see him make his debut at Sheff Wednesday. He scored and had a stormer. No surprise when Liverpool re-signed him all those years later.
  20. This thread makes me laugh. We haven’t even signed the kid yet and he is already too slow, too expensive and too weak. How many people have actually seen him play regularly? I like him. I remember sitting at Wembley last May and discussing his performance at length. He was quality that day. For the record, he didn’t look slow or weak. Don’t forget where we were 12 months ago Villans. Enjoy this because it is light years ahead of that place.
  21. No way. I think the big man has real potential. They can have him on loan for a season but he still has a future at VP.
  22. Very sorry to hear that mate. Blessings to you and your family. I lost my Dad last summer. The next villa match I went to I parked in the usual place, walked the usual route, sat in the usual seat and drank the usual half time drink. It suddenly dawned on me that I had been doing this all my life because this had been my Dad’s routine when he first took me as a boy. My Dad was alive and well in me and will be passed down to my son when he gets a bit older. UTV
  23. Imagine if we still had Brucie doing our transfer dealings this summer with all the money available! The mind boggles!!!!
  24. I had to take my son to his new school today to meet his teacher. There was another little boy there called Friday. Coincidence?????????
  25. I still think this will happen. I really hope it does too
