  1. Im 27 and this season is my 18th consecutive season as a season ticket holder. The last 12 months has really took its toll on me and for the first time since I've been a season ticket holder I actually had second thoughts about renewing. There were ALOT of times last season where I was sitting there watching us getting done over by teams that we should be beating and I would think to myself why am I still doing this. In past years when I woke up on a Saturday morning I would be buzzing about the game on the afternoon but last season I would wake up and think... shall I bother going today?!? Part of me regrets renewing this season. Loving Villa just isn't enough anymore! Never thought that I'd see myself say/type that but it's true. I can love Villa in a different way, like sitting in front of my laptop every matchday finding a dodgy website to watch the game just like alot of other members on here do!!! I'd save ALOT of money every year doing that too! Going to every single home and away game year in year out is a costly number and as I'm getting older and wiser the money that I would be saving would definitely come in handy! I've finally taken my claret and blue tinted sunglasses off and realised a few things. Another thing that I never thought I'd say... I actually feel sorry for McLeish! Did I want him? Of course not but he's here now and that's that. His job is difficult as it is BUT Randy has made McLeish's job a million times worse by not backing him. Even Sir Alex or Mourinho couldn't do anything special with the squad that we currently have. Back to mid table mediocrity for us and to be honest that's something that I'm not prepared to pay silly amounts of money every season for anymore. I'd say that it is VERY likely that this will be my last as a season ticket holder unless McLeish can somehow pull it off, which I doubt. The ambition has disappeared and in 9 months time when the Tottenham game is over that is exactly what I shall be doing from Villa Park.
  2. Nash won't wrestle. He doesn't even look comfortable when walking nevermind trying to wrestle!
  3. ^^^ Wade Barrett. His little feud with Daniel Bryan isn't really going to go anywhere, unless they do it with the MITB contract on the line. Other than that it's a dead end story soon really. Wade will win the title sooner or later anyway. I can see the Orton/Christian feud dragging on longer than it needs to though. As for Cena/Punk it wouldn't surprise me if they had a match maybe next week to become the 'undisputed' number 1 contender for the Night Of Champions PPV.
  4. Hardy is on a right bad streak at the moment. Luckily for him they need him for their UK business otherwise he'd have to be fearing for his UFC career.
  5. Nash tweeted about two weeks ago something along the line of... "Punk if you want back up you've got my number. You're worth me going back on the road full time. The offer stands but I'll understand if you want to go it alone" It really does my head in the way Cena getting pinned fair and square is a once in a blue moon thing. The Kevin Nash thing threw me abit as I thought what's the point in that! If he's planning on returning he needs to sort himself out because 'Big Daddy Cool' was looking old and very out of shape. I had a feeling Del Rio would try and cash in the MITB at SummerSlam. There's alot of explaining to do on RAW tonight anyway but it wouldn't surprise me if the story develops and Stephanie was in on the Nash thing behind Triple H's back.
  6. I either get... The server is temporarily unable to service your request due to maintenance downtime or capacity problems. Please try again later. OR The requested resource could not be loaded because the server returned an error: 503 Service Temporarily Unavailable I've already done a team on there anyway I just haven't joined the mini league yet.
  7. It's not working for me either! I just tried with that site you specified aswell and still no luck. I keep getting the following message... The requested resource could not be loaded because the server returned an error: 503 Service Temporarily Unavailable
  8. I'd love to see Jericho back to feud with Punk. Punk is awesome on the mic and so is Jericho so there segments would be great! I was hoping Jericho would be back later this year but obviously that's not going to happen. Royal Rumble in January is a very realistic possibility though, which could then be built up for a few months leading to a match at Wrestlemania (which I'm attending) Vs Punk. The fact that Jericho bad mouthed Punk on twitter after Punk mentioned Jericho on Raw the other week has only added to a potential feud. Plus the fact that the 'from the vault' match shown on Smackdown last week was a Punk Vs Jericho match from a few years ago when they were both champions also continued to get people talking about a potential feud upon the return of Jericho. As for now, I have a feeling that Summerslam is going to be abit of a let down this Sunday. I really do hope I'm wrong though! Paying £14.95 for a poor event sucks!
  9. Same starting 11 that started against Walsall will do. If Ireland isn't fit then I'd put Bannan in.
  10. Oh and regarding his 'new' theme music, he used it for a short while towards the end of his ROH days.
  11. I could see The Rock winning then Del Rio cashing in his MITB and winning. That way The Rock doesn't have to lose to Cena and he doesn't have to commit to wrestling again. I seriously doubt that The Rock would do all this then lose at Wrestlemania. As for CM Punk, ideally I would have liked him to be absent for another week or two BUT they have to start building for Summerslam so I'm not surprised to see him back already. As soon as it was announced last week that they were doing a tournament for a new champion it was obvious that the main event at Summerslam would be the new champion vs CM Punk in a winner takes all match. There's still life left in the storyline though so they haven't messed it up just yet as there are still a few decent ways that they could play it.
  12. Christopher Daniels is quite possibly the most talented wrestler in IMPACT. Personally I think AJ Styles is VERY overrated. To put him on the same level as people like CM Punk or Randy Orton would be laughable. I'm not saying that's what you're doing but in my opinion AJ would be a mid carder at best in WWE. He wrestled a few 'dark' matches for WWE years ago but they deemed him not good enough and therefore never signed him. I've just never got the 'buzz' surrounding him! IMPACT is just a poor mans version of what WCW was 10-15 years ago. Vince Russo is the head of creative... says it all for me! One of the reasons WWE can be stale at times is due to lack of competition. If IMPACT were more of a threat then it would force WWE to raise the bar even further but with no real competition they can cruise along in 2nd gear and still blow IMPACT completely out of the water.
  13. TNA, sorry... 'IMPACT' Wrestling is shit! @villaajax, fair enough it's your opinion BUT how on earth you can say they have better wrestlers than WWE I will never know! The majority are just cast offs or has beens that Vince didn't want anymore! The whole company is a complete shambles from top to bottom. It's like watching a really poor WCW Nitro.
  14. Yeah it was Burke. Gardner played for Villa XI the other night. Considering some of the players that were involved against Walsall I'm abit disappointed that Gardner wasn't given a chance instead.
  15. Not a chance! Do you really think that they'd let him win the title and leave with it? No way would that happen, it's all part of a decent storyline that they have played pretty well so far which to be honest is a surprise as I thought they'd mess it up last night and have Cena to the rescue as usual.
  16. One of the best all round PPV's in a very long time. CM Punk has been quality, especially over the last few weeks and I'm glad to see him win the title as he deserves it. I'm fed up with this 'Super Cena' to the rescue so I'm also glad that they didn't let Cena win. Raw will be very interesting, I can't wait to see what happens now because as it stands Punk has 'left' with the title and Cena is 'fired' but will no doubt be re-instated within the next 24 hours, unless he really does have a little time off to have that minor surgery that he needs. There is absolutely no way that CM Punk hasn't already signed a new contract though. I've got to say well done to WWE for not **** up a potentially great storyline, something that I really thought would happen! I just hope they can keep it going for a while yet as there is still alot that can be done with this storyline! For tonight though, bravo WWE!
  17. I used to rate Shay Given as one of the best keepers in the league when he was at Newcastle. He's too injury prone these days though and Guzan would probably end up playing 10+ league games which wouldn't be great. If we were to pay this reported £5 million plus give him over £50,000 a week then I'd be disappointed. I know he makes the odd error but I'd rather pay an extra £3 million - £5 million for Foster who would also be on lower wages than Given.
  18. In my opinion Punk HAS signed a new contract already. They wouldn't let CM Punk say some of the stuff that he said if he was out of the door in three weeks! WWE don't work like that. Now I'm not saying that he's going to win the title and not leave but it wouldn't surprise me if it went down like that. He has been feuding with Rey again lately so if Rey wins the money in the bank it will sort of continue the feud between those two if Punk wins the title. If you add into the mix that John Cena needs surgery, nothing too major but he needs to get himself sorted sooner rather than later then If Cena gets "fired" then this will allow him time to get the surgery but even if this did happen then I'd expect Cena to be back within 4-6 weeks anyway. WWE can go multiple ways with this which makes the next few weeks very interesting but no doubt they will probably **** up a great opportunity... AGAIN!
  19. Gardner's wiki page... "Gardner says he is a lifelong Birmingham City supporter. He had previously claimed (while playing for Aston Villa) to have been a Villa fan since childhood. Since then, he has claimed to have been a "Black Cat" since exiting the womb. His younger brother Gary also played for England at youth level and turned professional with Aston Villa. He Left Birmingham City saying he was a lifelong Sunderland A.F.C supporter" Undisclosed fee but sky reckon its £4.5 million.
  20. Really? I thought he played crap against Mexico! I've never rated him from what I've seen of him for Villa/USA/Leeds. I know a couple of season ticket holders at Elland Road and they said they were not impressed with him either.
  21. Player names on the back of shirts. It really annoys me when players have nicknames instead of their surname. The two main ones that annoy me everytime I see them play are Lassana Diarra who has LASS on his Real Madrid shirt and Javier Hernandez having CHICHARITO. It really winds me up for some unknown reason.
  22. Quality from Dos Santos. What was Tim Howard playing at though! It was a decent game to be fair. Mexico worthy winners.
  23. I've slightly warmed to the idea of Hughes. Not overly keen by it but I wouldn't be disappointed either. He's done reasonably well at all the clubs that he has managed and he also did a fairly decent job with Wales. He doesn't stand for any shit off players either which is what we need. He could probably sort the defensive mess out too considering Fulham were the 4th best team defensively last season which when you think about it is quite remarkable when you look at the poor quality players in their back line, excluding Hangeland. I would have definitely prefered us to try and get Carlo and Ray but I was never over confident of that happening. I'd much rather have Hughes to someone like McClaren any day though! On another note, I might stick a bet on O'Neill being the next Fulham manager!
