  1. I think today we saw the most important thing yet from Big Eck and that was the way we played after the first half. Any team can play rubbish or go on a poor run but the fact the players responded to him counts for something. He has sorted our defence out and once he gets the final third going I'm confident we can do well. He is doing the right things and don't forget he is settling into the club and getting to know people and etc too, I'm sure it is going to get better. I also believe bringing KMac on to the coaching staff will work wonders too!
  2. I think signing Jenas will be the best thing to happen to Delph. He is still young and with his injury he is still inexperienced. I think Jenas will take some pressure off him and give us extra experience along side Petrov. This will take some pressure of Delph allowing him to continue his development without as much pressure.
  3. I think our back 5 has been solid and confidence will grow. We have defended very well at times. We do look like we've got a mistake in us but generally I think we will be fine. Dunne is back to his best and with Big Eck having his ARM around his shoulder I think he will be a massive player for us this season.
  4. He woke the team up for the second half. If we were more clinical and had a final ball in the final third we would have been 2 or 3 up. I think that will come with experience and the team playing together more and more. I think Big Eck is doing ok so far, some crap performances and some positives as well. I think he will do very well for us in the future (I hope!).
  5. Bit of both I reckon but Big Eck did his job at half time and the players did theirs by responding. We should have finished it and made it 2-0 but there are signs of life there!
  6. In the second half we saw glimpses of what he is capable of. That was the first time I've seen him look 'decent' since signing in a competitive match. He needs to carry on what he is doing and hopefully he will improve and be the player we need him to be! 90mins twice in a week? Sharpness will be improving!
  7. I actually like the look of: Ireland-Jenas-Petrov-Delph Think both Ireland and Delph are very capable of playing wide in a 4-4-2. Play N'Zogbia in front of those four with Gabby up front. The only issue being Ireland and Hutton on the same side defensively. When Ireland was playing well for City he played in a front 3 consisting of Petrov, Robinho and himself. I think in a 4-3-3 we are playing him in the wrong '3'. He should be in the forward 3 not the midfield 3. Ireland, Gabby and N'Zogbia today would cause majority of teams in the league a problem!
  8. I think people are getting too excited over money. Money isn't everything. I don't like it but I'd rather have these few seasons of mediocrity and have a sound financial platform then run up more on wages! The club need to continue to expand their revenue to give us more freedom with wages. I think we will be a different team in 2-3 years when Heskey, Beye, Warnock and etc have gone and it will give us a bit more movement with wages!
  9. I believe N'Zogbia will still come good. He is just settling into the side and the area (I assume he has moved house?). I think any game now we will see the player we signed and I'm sure a lot of the people criticising him will be his biggest fans!
  10. I think people are writing us off to easily. We've beaten bigger and better teams last season with a shitter defence and unhappy players. Moral seems to be decent in the team, we have a settled team as well. There aren't too many of their players that you would pick over ours. I reckon we can get a result, even a draw isn't too bad. We have the better quality and as long as we are up for it we will get a result! Its up to Big Eck to pump the players up!
  11. I totally agree, rather this than sign somebody like Shorey on high wages who is pretty useless. Completely agree with this. May turn to be out a gem of a player! Fingers crossed and if not then at least we ain't spent a fortune on him like Beye!
  12. I think Hutton needs time and he will be a good signing for us. Tomorrow I would go for... -----------------Given------------------ Hutton -- Collins -- Dunne -- Warnock ---------Delph Petrov Jenas----------- -----------Ireland----------------------- ------------------N'Zogbia-------------- ------------Agbonlahor----------------- Thats the team I'd play. I would play very narrow and try and squeeze the midfield for possession. I know they have wide players like Wright Phillips but this game is going to be won in the middle of the park!
  13. Very unfortunate ending to the fight. Mayweather has done that to boxers before though, he did it to Mosley and to Gatti. As much as I think it was a stupid ending to a fight I cannot blame Floyd. Ortiz shouldn't have head butted him in the first place and then he shouldn't feel the need to 'hug' him twice. Naive and stupid. Number 1 rule in boxing is 'Protect yourself at all times'. Just a stupid ending. I hope there isn't a rematch though because the outcome will be the same, a Mayweather victory. What's next for Mayweather? Would love to say Pacquiao but don't think he will fight him, not yet, he will wait and see how old he is getting after the Marquez fight! I'm a big Mayweather fan as well lol!
  14. Thing with Ireland it doesn't matter if he had a pre season or not he is not fit and will not be fully fit for awhile. His sharpness and muscle strength will take awhile to come. He always has niggling injuries. AM has stated that they have got him working with the fitness coaches to improve his conditioning. I reckon we will see a lot more of him as the season develops, we can't chuck in a player who hasnt played consistently for God knows how long and expect him to be at the level of Bent or someone in terms of fitness. I think AM is being complimentary of him in the press as he doesn't want him to feel as if he isn't in his first team plans and to give up in training, he wants him to get to the level he was before and is just sweetening him up. I think its good man management personally. Better then GH slagging him off!
  15. We should do alright in this game and its a good test for some of the squad players as well. I will definitely be going to this! Should be a good game!
  16. Absolutely delighted with this signing! Ireland Bent N'Zogbia = Goals Galore

Gabby for Ireland, 4-4-2. Heskey did decent against Walsall on the left. I'd like to see him be given another go out wide.
  18. I think he is better then Downing. Did equal to what Downing has done but for a club with a less talented squad. Should flourish here. Him and Bent will be amazing. Just hope all terms and wages have been done, don't want him acting like a knob over contract negotiations!
  19. I hope they are true. The sooner we get this guy in the better. We need an out and out winger who is proven!
  20. Atleast next season when Man City are in for him we can tell them to f off as he is ours til 2016

will we play many first team players?
  22. I'm glad we got him in and I think he will be a great addition. I'm slightly weary of the fact we have signed him on a 5 year deal though... Think it should have been 3 or 4! Not all keepers go into there very late 30s playing excellent football.
  23. Would be nice if it was announced at Star City and he appeared in the top! They announce Bent, then Gabby, then Fonz, then Albrighton... then Given lol! Amazing!
  24. I think we will sign this guy up. Its just a case of making sure we get the best deal, same as what Wigan are trying to do. Even if it rambles on for another week, it won't matter as long as we sign him up!
  25. No thanks, 32. Yeah he is too old and his wages are too high. He stated in an interview recently he doesnt wanna take a pay cut because he uses his wages to fund his academy in Africa. Fair play.
