Well, quite. Not as annoying as if I'd just signed up to a 2 year contract!

But I still have to find a new provider and change numbers etc. Small bit of hassle.

Do 3 use the O2 network as well or do they have their own?

My upgrade is due in Jan (5h I think), so I'm provisionally looking around.

Currently on;

£27 a month

3 contract.

Unlimited texts/data

2000 minutes any network calls.

My phone is a still nice Samsung Galaxy 3 mini.

What's the latest bizz with "cells" these days?

I work for AT&T, but I can't get a contract with them as I'm in the UK :D

I think that tariff is £23 per month for new supply on a monthly deal. You should get a fiver off as an existing customer.

If you don't use all your minutes (up to 250) I think you can get another fiver off.

All on the same network. You;ll probably get further discounts if you sign up for 12 months, but I wouldn't recommend that.

Was keen on Giff Gaff when my contract ended start of the year but i travel a fair amount and I find Giff Gaff extremely poor/expensive when abroad. They didnt have a european plan/package like other networks.

So went on Three instead, £15, month long contracts 200mins unlimited data/texts.

The best thing about it is their "Feel at Home" offer

which is where if you are in one of the 16 countries you can use your home as if you were in the UK. Unlimited Data etc

Ireland, France, Italy and the US among others.

I have spent about a month and a half in the states so far since getting the contract and i could use my phone as usual, google maps and whatsapp.

The coverage isnt quite as good though, was in Aberdeenshire over the weekend and hardy ever got any data

I don't know about 3 so can't give a comparison. But Giff Gaff's coverage seems to be very good. A million times better than EE was.

I may be giving 3 a go soon though so might be able to give a comparison then.

(ridiculously vague answer, I know ;) )

Aha! Thankyou. Are you based in Shropshire then?

I'll try 3, you stick on Giff Gaff, then we can discuss phone signal in the Holte End some time. (Or Costa Coffee in Telford Town Centre).
