NIVillan Posted July 6, 2012 Posted July 6, 2012 If you saw the pictures of the team training you couldnt fail to see the Catapult Sports bands being wore across the chests. This is advanced performance monitoring equipment so it looks like Lambert is dragging the training techniques and performance monitoring into the 21st Century. Quite a few of the top Fotball and Rugby clubs are using this tech. Good News that we are finally joining them
Ginko Posted July 6, 2012 Posted July 6, 2012 I'm pretty sure I saw some of the team wearing these last season during training sessions too.
honest_bertie Posted July 6, 2012 Posted July 6, 2012 was wondering what the point of those catapult bib things were, cheers.
NIVillan Posted July 6, 2012 Author Posted July 6, 2012 I'm pretty sure I saw some of the team wearing these last season during training sessions too. I might have missed that - Looking at the information on the site Villa are not listed as one of the teams that use them, West Brom are though!
Ginko Posted July 6, 2012 Posted July 6, 2012 Yeah, I just found this from last season so it seems we've been using them a while now.
macandally Posted July 6, 2012 Posted July 6, 2012 Genius! By the way, they may be latest technology, but they still look crap!
briny_ear Posted July 6, 2012 Posted July 6, 2012 BTW, guys, McLeish has gone now, the nightmare is over, so maybe it is time to stop slagging off the club at every possible opportunity. I'm depressed at the suggestion that our choice to use a particular product - one of many on the market - to monitor players' fitness, is a sign that a club has "joined the 21st century". Villa's training facilities and operations have been well ahead of most premier league clubs for some time and it surely isn't right to portray us as having been behind the pace in this area?
Keyblade Posted July 6, 2012 Posted July 6, 2012 Aha. Was wondering why they were all wearing training bras .
Marka Ragnos Posted July 26 VT Supporter Posted July 26 (edited) Speaking of 21st century training ... I guess I wonder if there's anything anyone can ever to do to help prevent ACL ruptures in football players today. We had such incredibly bad luck last year, and it's hard not to wonder whether any kind of alterations to training regimens have been added. Probably not, but I'm just, please, no! Even when I think of someone like Joao Felix joining, I'm like, "Hope he waits a while before popping his." I sometimes wonder whether the intensity of the pressure players put on themselves can be problematic? Like, do they need to be careful not to do certain things? But that would seem incompatible with the modern game. Anyway, I don't have any answers, just questions. Edited July 26 by Marka Ragnos
