England are the final hope of having an exciting game in this round.

I'll be genuinely disappointed if Spain win this tournament. I know they're the best and everything but **** hell, I can't think of a dominant team over the years as boring as this lot.

When the Euros are on I always wonder if the rest of the world care. I would guess many in South America do, but no one else.

Hi

But are you (1 person) representative of your area?

I'd say so, football is the most popular sport here (even if there aren't many people willing to play it professionally) and there are a lot of people who follow European football regularly. As mentioned before, this naturally means that a lot of us follow European tournaments as well.

I can already imagine Ronaldos body language. He will be even more animated, agigated and motivated then he was in the Czech Republic game. He will desperate to beat his Madrid colleagues and Barcelona rivals.

God that was horrendous.

The French need to hang their head in shame. They showed no ambition, no drive, no motivation. Terrible.

Spain are not intimidating in the least. I hope Portugal knock them out, make the final a spectacle.

Jesus. Just **** off already Spain.

Agree fully, get tight and physical on them short midfielders

And play two up front and have a **** go

Their defence without Puyol is penetrable

He will but more than most players playing the game, Ronaldo is just always desperate to win.

I know he is a cock but I do find his passion to win impressive.

Plenty of players manage to show passion to win without resorting to his petulant antics.

I know it's a different sport but I hope the comparison is valid - Take a look at someone like Rafa Nadal. Clearly incredibly driven, a born winner and fiery with it. But he's a genuine guy too. Ronaldo remains a flat track bully and a complete and utter bell end. I constantly wish failure on him.

Regardless, when we meet them in the final he'll be hiding in Ashley Cole's pocket as usual. So do the biz against Spain Ron, do us all a favour.

Part of me thinks his drive and determination is down to his desire to prove he is the best player in the world, more then his desire to win the actual game. He is desperate to cement his legacy and prove he is better then Messi.

I really hate this football snobbery that surrounds Spain. Since when is 600 directionless passes 'the right way'? Football is about creating chances and scoring goals. How many chances do Spain actually create? How many times do they get behind teams? As far as I'm concerned, playing without specialised attacking players is negative and boring. I'll never, ever get it.

Admirable? Sure. But I for one watch football to be entertained. I'll take a walk around an art gallery if I want to appreciate something... abstract.

That's it. Spain play abstract football. They may talk tiki-taka, but in reality it's directionless, boring play.

Ronaldo remains a flat track bully

I think that criticism was dispelled quite a while ago. Ronaldo has scored in plenty of big games including cup finals and Clasicos.

Ideed. Have you ever watched 'Zidane - 21st century portrait'? I mean it's interesting enough, well painted, makes you go "Hmmmm". But I'd rather get a season ticket down the sty than watch 90 minutes of it every week.

I'm sick of comparisons with Barca as well. Barca actually attack teams and they of course have Messi who is simply never dull to watch. They have direction in players like Pedro, who was probably man of the match despite only being on 15 minutes (though it felt like an hour).

Turgid anti-football. I hate them.

Why is Veira not in the ITV studio for this France game? He should of been there instead of Carragher. Carragher does give good analysis though.

Could have been working for French TV I guess. As least that is where I assume he is.

The Spanish would disagree. Their goal is to win games and they know if they have 70%+ of possession then they will concede very few chances and even fewer goals. It's not very exciting to watch, but I'm sure their fans dont give a **** when their team is winning tournaments at the rate Spain are winning them. Spain do underline just how great a player Leo Messi is though, because Barcelona play exactly the same style of football and get very little criticism for being boring. I presume this is because Messi gets people out of their seats so often with moments of individual brilliance.

Not necessarily, he is still the most expensive player in the world.

He is under constant pressure to perform with the price tag he has, if he doesn't perform in a game he is criticised; whether it be against Betis or Barcelona and that pressure also applies at international level.
