Can you imagine training like a trojan for years and years for this one race, total dedication and major graft, for maybe the biggest race of your life, the pinnacle of your racing career.

And then this jizzstain decides to **** it up for you for his own selfish who gives a shit about anyway reasons..

Selfish word removed, he deserves a slap!

Out of interest do you doff your cap to these people as well ??

To : a 77-year-old pensioner [who] shot himself dead in daylight outside Parliament, saying his debts had left him no way out?

Well, I'd doff my cap to his funeral car if his family or his estate were able to afford it.

X2.

He's a typical 'middle class activist' type, otherwise known as an utter tosser.

fair play to this man, I say. Protesting on a point of principle. Not because he's been disadvantaged, but because he sees the inequality in society, he sees the unjust Bullingdon club regime at the heart of dave's government, and makes a stand against it, in a very public way.

I doff my cap to him.

Bravo, Sir.

:notworthy:

Dave Spart of Neasden at his finest!

It's only a semi pro annual university boat race.

Exactly. Why did this chopper have such an overinflated sense of his own importantance he felt it necessary to disrupt an event that meant very little to anyone other than the participants? What did he achieve? What did he prove? Trenton is nothing but an attention seeking idiot with an ego like a barrage balloon.

The background of the protester is completely irrelevant.

Private school boy protests against "elitism" and you don't see the irony?

Will he be protesting against the Olympics to highlight the inequality in some people being fitter/faster/stronger than others?

He and his ilk are anti-achievement not anti-elitist, probably a projection of the bitterness stoked by failures in their own lives.

Perhaps he's making the point that the quality of his own privileged education should be available to others of all backgrounds. I see no conflict there.

Anyway, I don't know enough about this fella to comment on his actions, but I was making a more general point related to Villadude's post and your agreement, about people using sporting events as a platform for their cause.

Here's another one.

What an absolute c!nt; she deserved to die.

I'm reluctantly wading into this.

I won't comment on her being a word removed, I don't know enough about her, although her history of arrests, violence, arson and bombings would suggest that despite the cause she was fighting for, she may actually have been a bit of a word removed.

But how to you judge whether someone "deserves to die"?

If you throw yourself in front of a horse and commit suicide, does that make you deserving of death?

It's not like she was protesting and was accidentally killed, was it?

Fair play to the bloke, the fact that he's had a privileged upbringing makes him more credible IMO. It's not like he's a champagne socialist, he's actually stuck it to the establishment, got peoples backs up, and got a criminal record for it. He's made a sacrifice, and that's what it's all about.

You got four days off because the council of Nicea chose to subvert the festival of the goddess Eostre (Ishtar). Nothing to do with a pointless sacrifice. Won't someone think of the eggs?

You risk portraying yourself as wholly ignorant of political matters.

She gave her life to win the vote. People are currently fawning over latter-day protestors in safely far-away lands who do far less, to win far less.

She challenged our establishment, when it wasn't safe to do so, made major political gains, and paid with her life.

You mock this? Astonishing.

I'm not mocking Emily Davison, she's got more guts than me. Aung San Suu Kyi is another great woman. These are the kinds of females women should look up to in their sisterhood, not the spice girls. Anyway I digress, I was making a sarcastic point not in anyway having a go at Miss Davison, quite the opposite.

Edit, pointless word filter is pointless.
