Jezza
British Indy car driver Dan Wheldon has died after an horrific crash at the Las Vegas Indy 300 aged 33. A talented driver who slipped under the glitz and glamour radar of F1 to make his name in the USA. He is survived by his wife and two young children RIP Dan (nb - could a talented VT'er please post a link to this news from the BBC or similar? Thanks - it is appreciated. Jezza.) Ingram85
I saw the crash on the news last night, looked horrific, 15 cars involved and all were in flames. They said he had been air lifted to hospital so its sad to hear he hasnt pulled through. Rip.
Houseoftomorrow
Pretty good video talking about the crash. WARNING, it does show the crash itself, and identifies Wheldon's car. It's pretty far away, but I thought I'd give a heads up. I don't know anything about racing, but obviously it's terrible to see something like this happen. Poor guy had two very young sons. Tragedy all around. Link

Shillzz
Horrible news. I know little about it, but the sport itself looks almost recklessly dangerous.
