Italy did not even qualify for the WC They are currently 3rd behind Ukraine and England. Does this give you an indication of a good generation of footballers? And by all accounts Italy's generation of players right now is absolutely on the floor. Edited November 12, 2023 by Pinebro

I'd say Bailey is a lot better standard than Jamaica's worst player for example.
Popular Post briny_ear
I never really get this dynamic where a handful of posters pick on a particular player and constantly pour out negative messaging about them. Torres has been a victim of this, as has Tielemans, but the current top whipping boy is clearly Zaniolo. My take on him is simple. Emery brought him into the squad and clearly rates him because he keeps putting him in the team. He obviously has potential and Villa fans should be hoping he will fulfil it, because that would be good for the team and make us stronger and more successful. Better approach than constantly twisting and turning to find ways to denigrate the efforts of one of our own squad.
Monkeypuzzle
So, if he is not guilty of getting on football matches, what is happening to that weird Italian guy that accused him and said he had proof that was given to the TV broadcasters, who then didn't air it? Wouldn't that count as slander? Isn't that a crime? What's the story there?

Delphinho123
Had a run of games to show the manager something and failed miserably. With Ramsey coming back and Tielemans starting to perform, his minutes will be limited. Bailey is clearly preferred from the bench too. Bore off with the ‘whipping boy/scapegoat’ stuff too. I’m well aware he may turn a corner and become our best ever player - I’m merely stating that he’s been very poor since joining on a villa forum talking about villa things. Not sure how the loan thing works with the obligation to buy but I doubt we’ll be rushing into buying him given what we’ve seen so far. Hope he turns things around. The problem he’ll have is minutes. The_Steve
Zaniolo has struggled more since the scandal broke. Unai obviously rates him high enough to stick with him, even if repeated subs occur. It took a long time for players like Bailey to adapt, and he's still adjusting to the league and playing out of position. He's not a left winger so the JJ point is moot. What Nicolo needs is minutes and Unai is giving him that.

DCJonah
He's struggled a bit more the last two but prior he was playing in a team sitting in 5th and the conference league. I know we are good but I don't think we're good enough to completely carry a shit player.
