Demitri_C Posted August 7, 2023 Posted August 7, 2023 Probably needs its own thread for other games this week. As we know we play either hibs or luzern. But a wholw host of fixtures this week and next which should shape up the group stages
MrBlack Posted August 8, 2023 Posted August 8, 2023 (edited) Wanted to put this in the villa topic but it's mysteriously closed... Luzern gives us a nice away trip. Hibs gives McGinn a bit of homecoming. Both should be very beatable and let us rotate the squad options over the two legs. Be happy whoever wins that qualifier. Anyone know if TNT are showing any of the qualifiers? Edited August 8, 2023 by MrBlack

MrBlack Posted August 8, 2023 Posted August 8, 2023 Been too long time since I've had any real interest in European football. Nice to have it back! 1

Demitri_C Posted August 8, 2023 Author Posted August 8, 2023 I think hibs might suprise luzern well at homw anyway. They will be desperate to win the game and set up a england vs scotland show down. It would be quite a occasion. A friendly rivalry. I want hibs to be honest 1

Looks like this wasn't announced until the day before the first leg. So I guess possible BBC could pick up these games as well. 2

Have been dreaming about Villa playing in Switzerland since the MON era. Standing in the away end in my home country would be brilliant. Also, it's only a one hour drive... 9

Popular Post John Posted August 8, 2023 Popular Post Posted August 8, 2023 Hibs fans aren't over confident of getting through to play us. The following one on hibs.net made me laugh: "Hibs defence is as solid as a melted Toblerone sitting on a deck chair wearing a t shirt saying if I was chocolate I’d eat myself. No chance we’re going to play villa." Looking forward to the John McGinn, Ulises de la Cruz, Des Bremner, Alex Cropley, Johnny MacLeod, Willie Hamilton, Lewis Campbell & Willie Groves derby! 4 1

Also looking forward to go sometime. Fortunately I was once given 20 Swiss Francs by a friend to pay for something here. I bet that's worth about 20 Swiss Francs now. 1
Zatman Posted August 8, 2023 Posted August 8, 2023 Hibs already lost to an Andorran team in a leg so can see why the fans are rightfully pessimistic

But christ is it expensive. When the wife and I were in Zurich (back when Villa were in the Championship) I somehow managed to find a pub showing us playing. We had a meal, my wife had one drink and I had three pints. It was about 130 euros. 2

Also, drink before you arrive at the pub and only drink there to stay in the sweet spot . Drinks on me if we end up in Luzern. 2
