There’s some BBC music compilation on the tellybox

Tina Turner is currently singing Help! From way back when

She looks and sounds in pain

Its no more that she deserves for singing that shite

Was she still with Ike? That would explain a lot

She probably had a sore nutbush.

Wasn't really sure where to put this, but Chelsea Wolfe did a gig with the amazing KEXP and it's utterly brilliant. For those that like Chelsea Wolfe at least.

Well worth a listen, she's so good.

KEXP, that prompts me to mention the Lilly Allen interview I was just listening to.

She said two things that stood out for me. Firstly, she was full of praise for The Streets and the album A grand Don’t Come For Free. Apparently, all the individual songs stand on their own, but also, they all work together as one whole story, he’s used an album to tell one whole coherent story across multiple songs. This, apparently, was a first nobody had ever thought of doing that before.

Second, she’s quite put out by NPR Music Tiny Desk. Her record label tried to get her on Tiny Desk, but they declined, and she’s seen artists on there that are not as good as she is.

This is a friend of mine, he’s a professional singer/songwriter. I am not the friend with whom he hatched this clever scheme 🤣

I don’t know, soul funk disco general pop? Not post punk.
Personally, if I had a shop, he’d be filed under ‘P’. In the house, it’s by album spine colour.

There’s a review of Probe Records on Google from a Prince fan

It’s like this, Prince fan goes into Probe, asks if they have some Prince record and clearly starts waxing lyrical about Prince and trying to engage Bob in a conversation about how marvellous Prince is. He was rather offended when Bob told him he was talking to the wrong person as he didn’t really like Prince’s music.

1 star review :D
