KenjiOgiwara
I like to have a quick espresso at home. Last year or so I've used a capsule thingy, but I think I am ready for an upgrade. Currently looking at a Breville barista express, but as it's £800 here I thought I'd ask if anyone had any experiences with it or other recommendations. Not sure that I'd have paid that much for it though - I paid about £400. You'd need to find a good coffee supplier. I use Pact for most of mine. I've had some amazing coffees from them. KenjiOgiwara
Kroner is very weak now so all electronics are stupidly priced.
KenjiOgiwara
Went and had a look at it yesterday. Love it. Especially like the function where it dries out the coffee "cake" before you dispose of it. Seems to be value for money.
Davkaus
I think you've sold me one @KenjiOgiwara, not sure I could stomach £800 for it though!
KenjiOgiwara
Yeah the weak kroner is annoying. Bought a Dyson V11 this weekend and it was 750 quid. Bastards.
Sam-AVFC
Once you get to that sort of price most of what you’re paying for is the volumes it can handle and durability. That said, if I could justify spending that on what looks like a pretty serious coffee machine I probably would.

chappy
I’ve got the Bellarom machine from Lidl - compatible with Nespresso pods - does the job fine and doesn’t break the bank

I’ve had a couple of (relatively cheap) machines, but when the last one broke I went back to a stove-top espresso maker that cost about 20 Quid years ago and have stuck with that ever since. It makes good coffee and can’t break.
