Going the day before and staying in a Travelodge that's near Heathrow, then three hours in the lounge and hopefully nothing goes wrong. I flew back from LA with Norwegian and it was basically an 11 hour Ryanair flight, was **** horrific... trekka Posted January 5 VT Supporter Share Posted January 5 Yep, I've found Virgin to be good (insert kw gif). Miles better than BA in my experience. I also once did Air India to New York - they were long flights there and back (even though they served curry on the way). I think Birmingham was a stop-off and I took one step up to the toilet and the stink from it half way down the plane put me right off - cue me running to the nearest toilet when I could upon landing. Live Cuban music is always a good option there. Plenty of swanky hotel bars if that's your thing. If the Dolphins are playing, you could catch some live gridiron. It's got a great view of LA below from the grounds. You'll see the Capitor Records building on the way next to the freeway (not much to see, just a round building).
