Did you ever hear
It's superb. And the video is addictive!

I knew exactly what song you were talking about from your introduction. Reverend and the Makers are brilliant. Saw them in Cork. They'd make the stiffest man dance.

Willie Nelson & Merle Haggard - Pancho & Lefty.
The third best version of that song, after Van Zandt's original, and Emmylou Harris.

Oh, and I wish to inform the room that I, and only I, am the official Linda Ronstadt expert around here, and all enquiries should be addressed to me. :)

Nina Simone - Ain't Got No, I Got Life

I got my hair, I got my head

I got my brains, I got my ears

I got my eyes, I got my nose

I got my mouth, I got my smile

I got my tongue, I got my chin

I got my neck, I got my boobs

I got my heart, I got my soul

I got my back, I got my sex

I got my arms, I got my hands

I got my fingers, Got my legs

I got my feet, I got my toes

I got my liver, Got my blood

I've got life , I've got my freedom

I've got the life

(This is the correct thread - Rob!!)

Some otherwise excellent songs can be blown into shitsville by one line. This is one such. She was going so well until she got to "...I've got my liver".

I still believe that Pet Sounds is amongst those rarest of albums, the ones that can be considered truly flawless.

So nearly. As much as I love "Sloop John B" as a single - as a song, even - it is entirely out of place on "Pet Sounds".

Best album of the 60s? Let me think about that for a little while.

Elvis Costello - She

Sheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

The third best version of this song, after Gram Parsons and, yes, Emmylou Harris.

We're having a proper country-rock day on here, aren't we?
