GENTLEMAN
Aye but they have immense talents in Mangala and Varane, it's looking good for them for euro 2018 with Griezmann and Pogba still very young. Not sure why Sissoko is in, after a bright start he's looked very average for Newcastle although suppose he adds pace and athleticism which will be important in Brazil. An interesting and probably underrated squad, they're in a comfortable group so should be quarters. Always think these about French squads prior to recent tournaments but they always seem to manage to le coq it up somehow! Basically said he acknowledged that Nasri was a good player. But said that whilst he was starting for City, he wasn't a certain starter for the French side. He'd have had him in the squad but that in the past, Nasri has shown a poor attitude when not in the starting XI and he didn't want that in the squad. Not saying I agree with him, but I thought it was a good explanation. And shows balls dropping a big star for the greater good. Cannot argue with that, has to be a balance of ability and character and you can only judge a persons character from past experience. Even more so for the French, after the SA 2010 debacle et al.,

GENTLEMAN
Right up until the commentators ruin it for everyone and spend 10 seconds rolling his name of their tongue everything time No doubt it's Im-o-beel-ay or eeeeemmoooobeeeeeelaaaaay Watching the Torino/Parma at the weekend, it was pronounced "Im-o-beel-ay"
CarewsEyebrowDesigner
Well their forwards are amazing, but their defence isn't as bad as people make out.
Voinjama
2 decent defenders out of that lot, although I confess to not knowing much about Mercado, any good?

Argentina's forwards are insanely good.
AVFCforever1991
Campagnaro has been impressive for Inter this year, so that's another good defender. Edited May 14, 2014 by AVFCforever1991
villa4europe
The young right back who's name I can't remember (plays in Italy) but is meant to be very good hasn't been called up Balanta has made the Colombia 30 man squad, best young player on FM 2014! Con
Can Aguero and Messi play together? Aguero has developed into a great carrier of the ball. They both can't do that job. Argentina need Messi to sit in the middle of the park in a Xavi role dictating play, making just the occasional run.

He's got a lot of potential, I imagine he'll get bought by one of the big Italian clubs this summer, especially considering Catania have been relegated. Voinjama
Campagnaro is ok ish and has had a decent year but I wouldn't class him as a top defender. He will turn 34 during the tournament, will he be able to handle it at that age? We'll see. A late developer with only 13 caps.
CarewsEyebrowDesigner
Zabaleta, Garay, Campagnaro and Fernandez are all good from what I've seen. Demichelis is also in very good form at the minute. They also have Mascherano to protect, and he's one of the best at it. At international level, you don't need world class players throughout the team. It helps, but what matters is getting the best out of your top players, and as long as they get the best out of Messi, they'll be fine. Most important for Argentina is Gago's fitness. Messi does not dictate play, Gago does.
Voinjama
The top heavy situation with Argentina intrigues me. I'm interested to see how they will all fit in and the formations they will use.
CarewsEyebrowDesigner
They usually play 4-3-3. Di Maria/Mascherano/Gago being the midfield, and Messi/Aguero playing off Higuain.

AVFCforever1991
Think they'll go something like this: Romero Zabaleta Fernández Garay Rojo Mascherano Di Maria Gago Messi Higuain Aguero Edited May 14, 2014 by AVFCforever1991
CarewsEyebrowDesigner
I steal Tim Vickery's knowledge. They can win it, but they need to avoid Spain. Messi can't do anything if he doesn't have the ball. Edited May 14, 2014 by CarewsEyebrowDesigner
villa4europe
He did a good article about tevez, think it was from mid April but was being circulated after he wasn't called up, basically suggested that aguero and messi works, tevez with either doesn't, also said tevez has a pretty poor record at international level Edited May 14, 2014 by villa4europe
Voinjama
That predicted starting line up is strong. Only Spain and possibly Germany have a stronger first 11. They need to get the formation correct this time, that's what cost them in the last world cup.
