I go from wanting the manager out to wanting to give him more time. I do dread who our board would appoint as their record is absolutely dire.

What perplexes me is the idea that once we have got Bent, Ireland, Dunne, Given an Gabby of the wages we will somehow then reinvest in players. If we are relegated the wages will have to come down again so our squad will have to become even smaller. Many of us would pay £500-£600 to try and guarantee £5000, I would have thought most astute businessmen would spend £5 to £6 million to ensure we get the £50 million TV money. Lerner may well go down in history as the man who destroyed Aston Villa Football Club.

I cannot imagine for one second that under the chairmanship of Ellis we would have a situation where we have nearly £40 million pounds worth of inverstment not being allowed anywhere near the first team squad. Warnock £8 million Hutton £4 million Makoun £5 million (a player that our manager has apparently never seen, so how he can make a judgement to the guys ability is beyond me) Bent £18 million just as long as we he doesnt trigger the next appearance clause otherwise he is worth £21 million. The Bent situation is just so bizarre, rumours that he isnt Mr Popular with other team members a side we have bought the player but no cannot afford to play him.......Is there any logic in this at all? Take out our academy players from the first team squad and then look at what Lerner has to show for his investment - not a fat lot.

Totally agree with Richard, the time has come for Lerner to stick to his word and leave the club. The one thing I do detest about Lerner and Co is that they keep releasing little snippets of info to the media about us being active in the transfer window, the General emailed the guy on facebook either knowing that the word would spread or worse it was all another pack of lies which was meant for one mans eyes only. During all this they allow their manager to have to take the flack, I really wouldnt put it past them to blame the manager when the window shuts for not being proactive and that they were prepared to back him. Its the sort of behaviour I would expect from the board of another local club not the board of AVFC.

The way he is going he could end up the worst owner of Aston Villa in history. He only needs one more relegation after the one in the summer and by then his invest will be worth feck all. A useless useless man.

I appreciate that you may have some knowledge about our ability to deal in the transfer window and you have stated on many occasion your belief that nothing will happen, however I cannot be the only one who is beginning to find your constant harping on about this fact more than a little annoying. We get what you say and would appreciate it if perhaps you didnt keep posting the same stuff many many times in the same thread.

I cannot agree with this, Lerner is not an astute businessman and no-one has the required football knowledge. I do agree that the board are a shambles though.

Has the Nexus 4 missed the boat? I was there ready to buy on the day it was released, we are now half way through January and there is no sign of it coming back into stock, Next month we have the MWC which will no doubt have quite a few new handsets being announced, some will no doubt have gone a step further than the Nexus 4 in terms of specs too. As much as I love Nexus I might wait until Samsung announce the S4 just to see what they are offering on it this time.

Bought a Ainol Elf 2, had great reviews and wasnt that bad but my daughter managed to break the screen playing a game because she pushed too hard with her finger. She is 7. Still not repaired it and you can get the screens for £20.00 on ebay. Sometimes thing can be too cheap to be any good.

Lambert really had a huge task before he came in, bigger than I suspect even he thought as the quality we have lost since MON walked has been massive.

I have just had a good look at the spreadsheet someone posted a couple of days ago and there is an error on it for the 2010\11 season which has us as spending more than we spent that season which the figures dont add up because that season on the figure stated we sold more than we sold. I think you will find he is paid to manage the club. Its the scouts who are paid to find the players.

I think is a point being missed by many on here. yes he had £20 million but he was severely limited on his targets because of the new wage structure in place.

I think Lambert would like some experience brought in which is why he mentioned Parker and Lescott the other day.

But if he had to fit the new signings into a new pay structure Lambert did what he could. I have seen on here mention of wages being about 50 million so if the first team squad gets 80 percent of that then thats 40 million for 25 players. I am sure we can all do the maths on this

Mantis I chose 30 grand a week purely as a figure. If we have a squad of 25 first team players I doubt will we have anyone on anywhere near £50,000 a week if we stay in the premiership

The big issue is that under Lerner the number of players we have let go for no fees at all just to reduce the wage bill is ridiculous

Where did I claim that I knew anything. If Lerner wanted to cut wages then he won't want to start adding more players on big wages.
