  1. Spurs are on a tightrope right now with minimal margin for error. Draws are no good to them. If they win and keep winning they’re in the driving seat. If they lose a couple they slip behind quite significantly
  2. We have to be realistic here, we can’t play top drawer and win every game. We had a smasher last week. Tonight we were up against a wildly talented, inconsistent team with no pressure, a style that matches badly for us and a big point to prove after three days of criticism and embarrassment. Take the point and be grateful. Head down, keep working, keep pushing
  3. On one hand I feel like Villa have the momentum now. It almost feels like pressure off and go for it time as well. On the other hand, I look at the league table, where Chelsea are, the game situation and I just have this nagging feeling it’s no going our way tonight. Same feeling for the Man U games…
  4. Heck’s just the kind of ball breaking maverick we need to drag us into the 21st century. Go get em champ
  5. I’m generally not too bothered about the bias. The one i find frustrating is talksport, just purely on the sheer amount they talk about Man United. It’s just constant bitching and moaning about Man U. It’s getting pretty boring
  6. Does anyone know where he’s settled in Brum? I know a lot of the players live in Little Aston and Four Oaks etc.
  7. They could play with a turd on the shirt for all I care, just keep winning lads
  8. For me, it felt like something special was there under Deano. We had Martinez, Mings, Konsa, Cash, Luiz, McGinn, Watkins and Grealo. You could sense the potential. The spine of the team was there, it just needed an experience, elite European manager to bring it out. Emery joining has lit the touch paper and now there are no limits imo. We’ve got the best keeper in the league, the best ball playing CB in the league, a top 2/3 double pivot in the league, a top 2/3 winger in Bailey, the top 1/2 striker and the best tactical manager in the league. Add to it that we’ve got a fantastic team dynamic and personalities across the squad, we’re really on to a winner here.
  9. He’s been out for a month and played 120 plus pens a few nights before. He’s only human
  10. The kid’s got bags of heart. Scored a last minute winner against Boro in the cup, got the crucial goal against Lille, fronted up in the shootout as well. For me despite any limitations he stays in the squad
  11. People on here forget the players are human. They literally played 120 and pens in France three days ago
  12. I can’t conceive of anyone. On the other hand I have confidence Unai and the scouts would find someone to plug the gap. Ollie was a 13 goal a season striker before Unai got to him
  13. Re losing players for me Martinez is the only irreplaceable one, maybe Ollie as well. Beyond those two I’d fully back Unai to find options to thrive in our structure. Look at Rogers. Also look at how the players were performing pre Unai. Unai and his team are the key to all of this
  14. Was going to say the same thing. Dougie was the key to winning the shootout. The pressure fully ramped up in sudden death, momentum had swung back to Lille, ref trying to put him off…absolute ballz of steel. Also hate off to Unai for having him on the 5th one
  15. That’s a good positive message CVByrne! I can tell we’re all feeling better now the coefficient uncertainty has been resolved and we can just focus on Villa. I’d rather win the Europa League than be knocked out in the group stage of the UCL. Let’s just see where we get to and enjoy the ride
  16. For the type of players we want. We don’t want UCL mercenaries like Tonali
  17. So glad all this neurotic coefficient rubbish finishes now. People were focusing on it more than our own actual games ffs. We either get UCL on merit or not which is fine. Attention now turns to tomorrow nights massive game
  18. I completely and utterly disagree. If we win this we’ll have beaten AZ Alkmaar, Ajax, Lille, Fenebarche/Olympiakos and mayve Fiorentina along the way…in my book it would be an outstanding achievement and one I’d celebrate hugely
  19. Not sure if anyone watched the four four two analysis on YouTube but basically Emi was fundamental to how we controlled the second half. He effectively operated as a third centre back during the build up and played passes from next to his own goal line. It’s not just about technique…that takes balls of steel. He’s a phenom. Worked his ass off into a ball playing GK on top of all his other amazing attributes. Best in the world
