Also, Im not sure your synopsis works tbh. Score goals for any team in world football? Surely the better the team ur in, the easier it is to score. A better way to look at it imo, wud be to judge whether or not he can consistently score against any team in world football. If Villa played Man Utd 38 times next season, Darren Bent aint gettin 20 goals for me In his 1 and a half years at sunderland, he scored against arsenal, liverpool, chelsea, tottenham and man utd. Since joining us in jan, he has scored against arsenal twice and man cit and man utd.

I have been very impressed at the aspects of his play aside from scoring goals, I think he has actually been working really hard. Plus the fact that he is an actual goal machine = I want to have his babies.

**** hell, what a game. Bent was brilliant, especially the control to bring the ball down for the first goal... next season he will surely get 20+ goals, love that man so much. Gave motm to Walker though, thought he had his best game for us today, would really like to keep him but think it's unlikely. Delph looked good, looking forward to seeing more of him next year. A lot of people say Young's form has dipped because Barry left, it got better when Milner was there and has dipped again since Milner left. This shows that Young needs to be fed. What has Downing been fed this season???Apart from a lot of abuse about his lack of tackling... No you right, it doesnt make him a bad player but it doesnt make him a gr8 one either. FWIW Id prefer for him to stay but I dont think hes key to success. In all the MOTM performances hes given - how many have been match winning performances?? Can't answer that question off the top of my head. How many games has Young, Gabby, Albrighton, Petrov won us this season. The only player that could stake that claim is Bent, who in effect, has kept us safe this season with his goals. I know he has also been quite shit at times but Collins has won us 7 points with his goals so he could stake this claim too!

Why? because every time he inherits a Houllier squad the team win the Champions League :winkold: I don't like Rafa and wouldn't really want him here but I can't stand Hughes and definitely don't want him. I think Rafa would take us further than Hughes would, don't see Hughes doing any better than mid table mediocrity (I know we would take that at the minute!) and I think with Rafa in charge we would have much more of a shot at the top 6 again.

Well the games he was in charge of in the past 28 days we drew with a very good Everton and recorded two very important wins over Newcastle and West Ham. Can't hold him responsible for the poor substitutions yesterday so I voted yes I do approve over the past 28 days. edit: just noticed the Everton game was from the last poll. Still approve though, two wins out of two with him at the helm.

I really wouldn't want Hughes. I find his post match moaning enfuriating and I would be embarassed if our manager was similar.

Don't think it affects us in terms of safety but a very disappointing result today. Why bring on Pires when you have the chance to up the tempo?! Downing MOTM, everything good we did went through him (and Walker). Luke Young second best, thought he had a good game.
