  1. havnt seen the goals back yet and they were all up the other end of the stadium but it looked to be like we had the chance to clear our lines in the build up for both of theirs which is really frustrating. stoke are shit, their crowd was quiet and they were they for the taking. should have been at least two up at half time given that 20 minute spell where we absolutely destroyed them. second half was woeful, no ability to retain possession, no subs made to add fresh impetus = same old, same old really. downing's goal looked sick though and he played really well for the most part.
  2. attendances have been really really poor so far this season. people should buck their ideas up - the fact that we have less chance of qualifying for the top 4 this season is no reason for not turning up to support the boys.
  3. got mine today, never been to the brittania before so looking forward to experiencing their atmosphere
  4. not the worst by any means imo - sidwell has to be the worst; does absolutely **** all whenever hes on the pitch, we pay him 40k a week and paid Chelsea 5mill for him. total disaster. i think heskeys been decent for us in all fairness.
  5. possibly the worst post iv ever seen on VT. hoping its tongue in cheek.
  6. a really bizarre appointment in my opinion. i really expected a British manager and certainly wasnt expecting someone to take up a director of football role as seems likely. having said that, i liked Houllier at Liverpool even though he may not have done the greatest of jobs there, wish him every success.
  7. i am a fan. i think every team needs a NRC esque player.
  8. tbh i think cahill is a very limited footballer. the ability to score headers by launching himself up on the shoulders of opponents or by just shoving them out of the way is pretty much all he can do. fellaini is very mediocre too for me, if he didnt look like such a moron i doubt i would have noticed anything he did on the pitch yesterday except for the gaffe he made for our goal
  9. He fell over fairly near to the big fella and the ref made one of his many very poor decisions on the day - never a foul yet alone a booking. I thought you deserved more out of the game, but the refereeing made it difficult to have any sympathy - what did you make of him? Dude, the one Dunne got booked on was a terrible challenge, Beckford went past him and Dunne knew it so just stuck his leg about 4 foot in the air and bought him down. Have you not seen the replay!? haha yeah im glad you pointed that out prideofbrum - that was a really cynical challenge from dunney. probably the right thing to do and prevent beckford going through on goal. not that he'd have scored mind... no idea how the bloke is in the premierleague, let alone starting ahead of Saha for a team like Everton.
  10. an embarrassing night to be a villa fan. to let that abysmal side knock us out of europe on our own turf two years running is utterly shambolic. we're in for a long seeason.
  11. Friedel - 0. his worst game for us. thought he was heavily at fault for the first two goals. i'd think about signing a new number 1 before the window closes. L. Young - 3. poor Dunne - 3. covered well in the early stages but big gaffe on the 3rd goal which really ruled out a comeback. Clark -3. was always going to struggle against Carroll's size and strength Warnock- 1. incredibly poor, as he has been since about february. Petrov - 4 some nice touches but looked like he couldnt run from about half an hour in Ireland - 4 felt a bit sorry for him Downing - 1. absymal, timid. so poor compared to the blinder he played last week Albrighton - 2. looked exhausted from the 1st minute Ashley Young - 4 lively in the first half but pissed me off with his constant whinging when he didnt really have a case Carew - 1 dire.
  12. the team we put out in Vienna last year was on paper at least a better one and we came away with nothing. i'd have taken a draw prior to KO today, id probably have taken a draw if all the senior lads were playing. we should be far too good for them at VP.
  13. And how many shots did he have ? Trying not to be too simplistic here, but I will stick my neck out and say that Albrighton will probably get MOTM - so if out winger was so good - why the hell did our forward not get within 30 yards of any of his crosses ! Probably because he's useless Carew showed how to lead a line properly at the weekend. Heskey is no outlet at all. The ball just bounces off the clearing in the woods. No doubt if Heskey was upfront saturday, you'd be lambasting him for missing 3 absolute sitters. Yes you're right. Well done. i think he was insinuating that would have lambasted heskey, whereas you seem to have forgotten carew cocked them all up. I'm aware Carew didn't score, but apart from that, it was a masterclass in playing up front on your own. He harried, bullied, put himself about, held the ball up, took people on and made a nuisance of himself. Because it took more than one person to look after him it created space for other players. I saw nothing like that from E-Mule tonight. edit: and I'm aware of what he was trying to say, thanks. I chose not to argue. fair enough. i think we'd all rather have carew than heskey in the team on any given night but having said that i feel that it doesnt really matter how big emile plays he will always get a rollocking from folks on here. thought he was decent tonight, even if most of his work was winning a number of free kicks.

  15. really struggled with high balls into the box. warnock was dreadful defensively, shirking challenges all over the place and not closing down their wide men. we played some nice stuff in the early going with albrighton, downing and bannan who all looked pretty dangerous. given the 11 on the pitch a very creditable result.
  16. TV on the Radio - Golden Age. very odd video: http://tinyurl.com/listentogoldenage
  17. Evening General, When are the talks scheduled with Maradona? :winkold:
  18. yeh im not sure. i did actually post about this deal in the other thread within everton (h) the best part of a week ago saying they were available but not sure many folks checked it. i just selected K4 and 'web special' was there in the price categories. Fan-bloody-tastic.
  19. i bought 2 tickets for a tenner each for this last week in K4! best seats in the house (imo)
  20. absolutely magic, brilliant performance and a brilliant atmosphere. delighted for jimmy too, an afternoon to remember.
  21. just to let people know you can seemingly book tickets anywhere in the ground for £10 right now from the website under a 'web special' category
  22. i've spent pretty much all day browsing this thread and its absolute gold. this one is just too good (load from 3mins to allow for a couple of seconds build up)
  23. Despite the above moderation you opted to make a post starting 'not a question....' Post removed - Trent
  24. 5live's sports bulletin just now said that Southgate and Sven have both expressed an interest in the job. dont know who the **** southgate thinks he is? ditched us for boro plus hes a terrible manager! surely no way he'll even be considered. my top 2 (relatively realistic) choices are Jol and Billy Davies
