If certain reports are true the Ukraine are reinforcing Bakhmut from Kharkiv and Slovyansk. That means Wagner are serious exposed on their northern flank and may become surrounded themselves if they're not careful. Either way it sounds more positive than for weeks so I'm trying to be optimistic.

I saw a report yesterday that up to 50K Russian are MIA, that not the number in captivity but those that haven't been heard from in over 2 months. Had a couple of dodgy moments today but overall excellent again. I love watching him play effortlessly at times linking everything together. Him and Kamara have been so instrumental in the change in fortunes under Emery. Long may it continue.

As much as I didn't rate him as a manager and glad we got rid the above isn't true. Both Cash and Ramsey played better under Gerrard than they have under Unai thus far.

Maybe there is a slight overstating of the captaincy, but you could see the weight on his shoulders under Gerrard. I don't think Gerrard held McGinn back as an individual in the same way he didn't hold Ramsey back. He held the team back though, the sum of its parts. McGinn hasn't just turned a corner since Unai arrived either, he's been dropped several times, had to get himself adjusted and regain form. Prior to that he was on most peoples lips as someone to replace. He's also playing predominantly the same position as under Gerrard, the difference though... he has a solid pairing behind him in Luiz and Kamara. The midfield is much better drilled and now easier to play well in if you do your own job.

I don't think he was held back by Gerrard. I think he had undue pressure put on his shoulders. Emery imo, has allowed him to concentrate on his game more than his captaincy. I think thats the difference. He was excellent today and I've been quite a critic.

I was being a bit harsh due to my anger over the post tbh and it's a stretch to say I hate people I don't know. I do hate what they stand for though currently as a nation, without doubt. I also understand the brave that have either refused to be part of this or left the Country. There is also a difference though with being angry at the behaviour of others than being the primary aggressor and the one chatting about killing babies and committing genocide against Ukraine etc... This is a regular standpoint with many Russian's, care for fellow humans is lost and the only thing that matters is murdering a nation for some ridiculous ideology. It's not easy having sympathy with those that also present a very familiar face to that of the Germans in WW2. Either being supportive of aggression or silent, they are all still complicit in what is happening as a nation.
