The strikers don't need coaching, but the defence surely does. Doesn't follow that those guys would be good at coaching just because they were good players though. -
I'd write an outraged letter of complaint - "into" should be one word.

I'd never heard it pronounced jif either, until the inventor did that interview recently. I shall continue with the hard G.

Here we go. The "G" stands for "graphic(al)", no? That starts with a hard "G". "Jif" = lemon juice (or cleaning stuff, Cif).

They were ok for the first couple of years. Then the Old Boy's eyesight weakened a bit, he started avoiding driving in the dark. He got a bit morose and came to dislike company. It's taken us years to wear the stubborn old get down. The last couple of Winters helped our cause. Now he can see Waitrose's wine selection from his kitchen window, and the pub up the road serves up cheap nosh & great beer. He's bloody loving it. Well I hope we've got a few years of being fairly sound yet.

Yep, same here (many years earlier, obviously). State schools (no church affiliation), but default Xtianity. Hymns, Bible readings and prayers in the school assembly every day. Plus "scripture" lessons. It's bad enough that parents feed that stuff to their kids, without schools doing it.
