    I’ve little doubt that if a shooting war breaks out, Hamas and Hezbolah will ultimately get their arses handed to them. As far as Iran goes, many Arab states hate them as much as the Israelis. The limits to their self inflated opinion of themselves might come as a shock if they start stirring things.

    I used the word in response to a poster who referred to settlers. If you want to be pedantic, every group there, Jews and Arab, are the descendants of settlers. Indeed historically they can both be described as the descendants of invaders. Depends how far back you want to go. Not that any of that helps solve the areas problems.

    No they’re not. If they were It would have been a fait accompli years ago. Israel is committed to the safety of its citizens. They see Hamas, Hezbolah and others who would destroy them in a heartbeat and resign themselves to the sad truth that the only thing keeping them safe is an overwhelmingly powerful military. It’s been a maze no one seems to be able to solve.

    Of course it should, no reasonable person could think otherwise, Hamas however are committed to the destruction of Israel, so I doubt they would agree. The Palestinian authority in the West Bank still have people in charge, that could reach an accord with Israel, but sadly that seems further away than ever now. And so it goes on, tragic.

    There’s never been a war without civilian casualties. War is a terrible thing.

    The only truly indiscriminate ordnance being deliberately fired, are the many missiles that Hamas are launching with no guidance systems whatsoever. Unfortunately just how indiscriminate, was displayed at the hospital yesterday. You don’t see the Israelis making a human shield of their own people.

    Take a look at the map from 1947 that the Palestinians refused to consider. They were offered a 2 state solution by the UN, and refused. They preferred to drive the Jews out. Hamas, Hezbolah. Jihadists all of them. Do you seriously think they represent the Palestinian peoples best interests.

    And I would never excuse anything that a bunch of Israeli settlers do that hurts innocents. But there is only one side that has the actual stated aim to drive the other side into the sea.

    That’s one instance of a group of Israeli settlers committing a terrible murder. It’s not the Israeli state sanctioning such acts. Hamas are the elected authority in Gaza, and they actually promoted and enabled the murder of 1400 innocents by a bunch of murderous terrorists.

    Nope. They don’t tie children down and burn them alive. They live their lives surrounded by people who’s actual stated aim is to kill them all.

    The impact was in the car park, where’s the crater that an Israeli air strike would leave. Pretty conclusive that this was a Hamas missile that broke up and impacted the hospital below.

    Don’t see the logic in Israel bombing hospitals. What would they gain. Await the outcome of any investigation. It is inevitable, given the amount of mass random launches by Hamas that some will malfunction and fall short. Either way it’s the innocents who suffer.

    Have to say, Southgates, at best mediocre club management record, was hardly justification for him being appointed England manager. The FA do have form for these kind of uninspiring appointments though. Guess he does as he’s told and doffs his cap to them. Frustrating, but so predictable from them.

    Have you ever visited Israel, I have, none of the Israelis I met were “scum.” They were pretty decent people, As indeed were the Palestinians I met in the West Bank. There are fanatics of course The tragedy of the region is that they poison the water for those who simply wish for their children to live in peace.

    There are always a few exceptions, Sid Cowans was another Although all three of those players, in my opinion, didn’t achieve the heights they reached before they left.

    Hopefully WMP will be looking at the footage, and charges will follow. Neanderthals, stuck in the dark ages.
