It's just a bit mental reading TBAR. Everyone seems to be convincing themselves that Arison ia buying us sooner rather than later based on a photo that looks like Meatloaf's older brother. I don't see that level of desperation on here, which is a relief. Or maybe this site is where the realists/pessimists hang out whilst all of the optimists/loonies hang out on TBAR.

Until Trent comes out and says this is not happening i'm going to keep my fingers crossed that it could. Swansea have signed Sigurdsson and Montero so maybe Ki will be on his way.

5m plus Dawson and Holtby. Not sure. If it was 5m plus Holtby and Capoue (loan) then definitely. Then bring in Ki and another CB (Lascelles) and we would be set I think.

I agree with the need to stick together. However, the frustrating period is approaching its 4th year now. Can't wait until Lerner buggers off.

It's a difficult one as he has signed some good players that, IMO, would generate a profit now. However the majority of these were in the first season with the likes of Vlaar, Guzan, Westwood, Lowton and Benteke. Last summer we signed a lot of cheap shit so I can really only think of Bacuna who has been ok. The problem is Lerner turned the tap off, the appointed McLeish and let him sign players for more silly money, most of which were on the way down (Hutton, CNZ, Given). Hindsight is great but we seem to have bounced from one piss poor decision to another.

vlaar delph etc are for sale, villa are a selling club, if spurs came in with 20-25m for the pair randy would get the cheque made out to him. you can see lanbert presser now.."we thought it was a great deal for a 29year old player in his last year,& the boy delph has been terrific for aston villa" delph and vlaar for 20 million?! Id take that Depends if Lambert gets any of that to replace them.

It's getting a bit depressing seeing other clubs spending money on players whilst we try to manage another season on a budget.

Why do you think we are making £50m losses every year? I think we were making some significant losses for a fair few years. However, last season we should have turned a profit. It's irrelevant though as we have an owner hell bent on cost cutting as his heart isn't in it any more and he needs to recoup what he can. Lerner has taken a lot of risks over the last few years but this season i fear we will fly too close to the sun and get arse raped. Obviously some of my analogies are a bit off but i've had half a bottle of jim beam so it's all downhill from here.

I'm not specifically bothered if we don't sign Ki. However, I am a bit gutted that it doesn't seem like there will be an upturn in our fortunes any time soon. Every season I think "well it can't be any worse than last season". This time i'm not so sure.

Sadly Abdul the fact that so many people have come out with cast iron info, you will have to forgive me for wanting to take what you write with a pinch of salt. However, fair play for putting the info out there. It's still better than discussing who is shitter out of Ellis or Lerner.

With Dempsey though we could have been quite far down the process before the player changed his mind. Nobody knows where we are with the Ki signing, if anywhere other than expressing an interest. Besides, when Dempsey didn't sign we ended up with Benteke so maybe we can get lucky again if Ki doesn't sign.

I'm not sure all of these clubs are spending within their means. We are but that's because our owner has already admitted that his heart isn't in it anymore.

Off topic but the Borini deal epitomises the stupidity of some Premier League clubs. Borini isn't worth any more than 7m. I would have taken a punt on someone like Ings from Burnley. Had a great season last season, and he only has 1 year left on his deal. In fact I would be very pleased if we went after him. Would offer us something different up front.

Guess we are very unlikely to be bringing anyone in before we fly to the USA. Oh well, would have been nice to get Ki in but maybe this gives the likes of Gardner a chance to show what they can do.

West Ham doing some serious deals this summer. Already signed Kouyate and now likely to sign Enner Valencia as well as being linked to Konoplyanka and Pedro Obiang from Sampdoria. Bastards, i wish we could bring players like that in.

Pocognoli to WBA. We will see who got the better deal. Personally I'm happier that we signed Richardson. Taking another punt on a LB would have been ridiculous.
