  1. TBF To Gabby he normally is a big game player it's the other 80% of games that's the problem! TBF to Gabby he normally is a big game player when he's 100% fit it's the other 80% of games that's the problem!
  2. Agreed - if you were them why sign a contract when the club is making open noises about not having much money. Better to wait for new owners or get the pay day of being a free agent in demand. If we do happen to lose these two in the summer it will be another big blow to the club.
  3. I think we need him big time next season. I do wonder though how motivated the Bomb Squad will be to play for Lambert. I know to a certain extent they are all playing for their next contract and will want to impress to land a big salary at the next club but I'm not sure footballers give a crap sometimes.
  4. So by my reckoning we still need - A left back - Assuming Luna will be off and big ? still over Bennetts ability to cut it. - A DM - been weak in this area for years. - Another wide forward - competition and ideally 1st 11 displacement for one of Weimann or Gabby. We have N'Zog coming back but after losing Albrighton still think we need one more. - A striker - possibly with Benteke injured but with Bent coming back I'd be inclined to risk it. If we have any money to spend where do you spend it and what do you patch with the freebies? I'd say LB personally and then see what can be done to cover other positions.
  5. http://transfermarkt.co.uk/statistik/endendevertraege Here's that list
  6. Does anybody have the list of out of contract players? Only thing worth speculating about now
  7. This is what I don't get. If wages are under control why cant the club afford to pay transfer fees. I'm not talking about Randy gifting us a player. I am asking why the clubs finances cant support a transfer budget to keep us in the league? I don't believe that every signing made in the premier league is a gift from each clubs Chairman.
  8. Yes I would like Randy to force someone to buy us, that would be great, id just like the sorry mess to end so we can try and rebuild in some kind of meaningful way. The bit about things getting worse was in reference to the no fees thing. At the end of last season we limped over the line and yet he plans to spend even less than he did last summer. That is surprising and disappointing to me, maybe it doesn't you which is fair enough this is all opinions. Main thing I don't understand is why the clubs finances itself can't accommodate at least a moderate transfer budget to try and keep us in the league. Nothing to do with Randy putting his hand in his pocket . Other clubs manage it, our wages must now be on a par or lower than most of our competitors and I don't believe every other Chairman is forking out £30m for transfer fees
  9. Well Trent did say we would be disappointed and he is 100% Should have leant by now but never underestimate Randys ability to make a bad situation
  10. Jesus, Joe Cole! It really is going to be a long summer I wish Randy would just puck off. I know he's trying but he needs to try harder
  11. I'd imagine again most of the anger over this signing would be more to do with this further underlining we are some distance from being taken over. As striker cover it is in the Holt category, he is definitely a better player than Holt. This is Randy and Lambert thinking can I patch up the squad sufficiently to not get us relegated next year.
  12. Well I think how this usually works is that we whip ourselves up into a fever that it is going to be Fabregas and then Trent says "you are going to be dissapointed". Then we gradually realise it is Bendtner, then a few people say all this ITK is bollocks and Trent only has a 39% hit rate. And then it is Bendtner.
  13. Pretty sure McLeish spent a year trying to do this and Lambert has done it plenty of times too.
  14. Its interesting the point you raise about Culverhouse and Karsa and that he wanted to get rid of them far earlier. Because he obviously knew both of them very well. Their character, way of working, coaching methods etc will all have been very familiar to him and as a team they had been very successful together. So was it that the two of them were out of their depth at Villa, the club being too big a step up for them or did they change their approach and start acting in ways which came as a shock to Lambert in the negative? I guess we will never know but it seems odd...
  15. Again I thought he did OK against Honduras and is getting better as his sharpness and fitness improve. I'd agree he isnt the great white hope the press made him out to be but thats hardly surprising. Still though he is one of a number of talented young players we have so nothing to sniff at. Two main areas I struggle with - defensively - clearly weak in this area especially in midfield two which is probably what he would have to play in at WC. This would be a risk for Roy in my eyes and would be a trade off against offering more going forward than Henderson and Lampard. Other that annoys me is he tends to try and do the most difficult thing most of the time, which is a plus in trying to break down stubborn defences but it does mean we turnover play a lot. If you compare that to Iniesta who has an incredibly high rate of ball retention. He just knows when a tough pass is on or not, this to a certain extent comes down to technique and execution but also decision making
  16. You said very solid I said relatively. And relative to the first two games I thought we looked much better. I don't remember them having a decent chance which all things considered ain't too bad.
  17. I actually thought last night was ok, not spectacular but the best of the 3 games for sure. We looked relatively solid defensively for a change which was the first time we've managed that in a while. Going forward we created decent chances but didn't put them away, on another night it could have been a lot more comfortable. Only criticism you can really have is that we weren't more clinical or maybe created a couple more clear chances. Overall everyone looked a bit sharper so I'll call that progress. Anyway soon enough the talking will stop and the little moments will have their say. No idea how our group will go it's very tight in my eyes. I've just got a cheeky hunch that Barkley is going to score a screamer at some point.
  18. Yes the honeymoon is all inclusive and I will certainly be filling my boots. So it is without doubt a ridiculous amount of effort to go to to look good for like 1 day but this is the madness of man. I had thought about the no carb thing, in my usual diet I have a triple decker sandwich for lunch and two pieces of toast with dinner everyday. Which gives me a crazy 5 slices of bread a day! I've cut that down to two which has had a big effect and maybe cutting out the carbs all together will give that last little push.
  19. Right so I'd say I am a pretty regular exerciser, approx 5 times a week at gym and 2/3 times a week outside of that. In general my training changes around whatever I happen to be focusing on at that time Triathlon do more cardio obviously, same for running longer distances. If I'm focusing on football more leg based stuff and in the winter I tend to do less cardio and more general weights. I'm going on my honeymoon in about 6 weeks time and at the moment I am in 100% vanity mode, I just want to look good on the beach, six pack etc. In the past although I exercise a lot I also eat and drink plenty of crap so I'd say I break even weight wise. For this particular stint I've sorted the diet out and am doing a fair bit of cardio and also plenty of weights to keep definition etc. I'd say I do have a six pack at this point, pretty much. My problem is though is it is only really there when I'm hungry, if I eat a meal or drink a few drinks its pretty much gone. Is there anything I should do to lose that last little bit which seems the hardest to shift, more cardio? more cuts on diet? more weights?
  20. I still think they'd need Hazard or have to replace him because they'd miss his pace. Willian, Shurrle, and that new guy all quick but not at his overall level. Be interesting to see how Fabregas and Oscar play together. When they bought Oscar at first glance I thought he was the Brazilian Fabregas, having seen a bit more of him they are different but still quite similar in style.
  21. Probably looked at this as with Lescott prior to signing Senderos. Talked to agent about wages in the region of £19,550 per week and then got directed to a different supermarket that is more appropriate to our budget constraints
  22. Going for a flat back six then next year?
  23. I went on a couple of websites to look at buying some lingerie for my missus the other day. Now every website I visit has pictures down the side of incredibly hot birds wearing thongs. Not complaining and there is no issue work wise as my screen is not overlooked but it is incredibly distracting!
  24. You definitely correct in what you say Trent. My thinking would be that at the very highest level (i.e semi finals and on in the Champions League and title deciding games in league it is the really top players who can often decide it (the likes of Messi, Ronaldo, Bale etc) These types of players are very few and far between and the big clubs guard them with everything they have. I would have thought that Hazard has the potential to be in this category of player. So I am very surprised they would sell him to a rival. To be honest I always thought he worked quite hard whenever I've seen him play but what do I know. Mourinho CL wins - 2, villaGlint CL Wins - a disappointing zero
  25. I did think about Fulham to be honest but it kind of underlines the point doesn't it?
