  1. Watch 'season one', it's only 8 episodes, so you'll know if you can take to it or not after that. It's most comparable to Blue Velvet, having the quirky and sincere elements in a more equal measure compared to the other films. Thanks. My wife is due next month so I'm lining up a few things to watch during the sleepless nights on paternity leave. I'll add Season 1 to the list! It's brilliant SB, you won't regret it. A complete one off. There is a main story running through it, the weirdness just adds to the whole thing, rather than just being weird, for weirds sake. Season 2 slips slightly in the middle, but it was down to pressures placed on Lynch/Frost by ABC and it changed the way they wanted to complete the story.
  2. I can't believe it's actually going to happen. For those of you reading this page who haven't watched it - go beg, steal or buy it. It's the greatest TV Show ever made and one of the main reasons we have the brilliant TV programmes we all bang on about on here today. I'm so excited, I can't see it being anything short of amazing.
  3. Imagine being the poor team turning up to play against them! Fortunately my 'proper' over 35's team is a division or two lower than the teams the likes of Petrov, Busst, Hendrie and scimeca play for. I'm just hoping the cup draws are kind this season!
  4. Amended. Another reason to be over the moon that I get forced to pay money towards an organisation I neither want, need or like. To to be fair, no one is forcing you. Get Netflix and Amazon Prime, use catch up TV for everything else and ditch your license. Of you really want to make a stand, it's not that hard. You could then watch Top Gear on catch up TV, whilst basking in the glow of satisfaction, knowing you are not helping to pay Clarksons wages.
  5. IT.IS.HAPPENING. Both Lynch and Frost tweeted the same thing, at the same time - which was the exact time Dale Cooper first entered the town of Twin Peaks. BRING.IT.ON!!!!!!
  6. Watched the series 2 finale of Ray Donovan last night. Bloody brilliant. It's slowly turning into a properly brilliant show, if it caries on like this for another couple of series, it will be up there with the best of them.
  7. I'm gonna be the first (and possibly only) one to say, I reckon Vince Vaughn will do a good job and surprise us.
  8. It's 'decent'. Not as good as the HBO output, but better than dirge like Revolution and Under the dome. As Ginko said, Spader is very good and his performance alone makes it watchable. If your not watching much or you do the binge watching thing, it's worth ago.
  9. They can train at Villa Park! What and spread it round there too? I think it's more a case of keeping the players apart for a bit to try and stop the spread. Hopefully it will settle down quickly, because we are going to need to be sharp at Chelsea. It could be a real mauling if we aren't. Must be one hell of a contagious virus - and yet they all looked so good for 30 minutes - Delph almost scored. Sorry I can't put todays defeat all down to a virus - Bacuna for Sanchez I feel would have helped more. - but ulimatley we were beaten by a far superior side. I think if would be better if we held up hands and said that. We really don't want to make a habit of making excuses... Well it obviously is a very contagious virus if it's affected half the team in a week isn't it?! I don't think anyone is putting the result all down to the virus at all. As you say, we played a far superior team and we still managed to live with them for a large portion of the game and be arguably the best side for half an hour. That was despite the illness affecting the squad. Their superiority came through in a mad 5 minutes and they were able to use their quality to see out the game comfortably in the second half. No ones saying it was all down to illness, but equally it wasn't down to poor performance or bad tactics. We got beat by a better side, who showed their quality when the opportunity arose and we were not at 100%, which pretty much killed any small chance we had. Lambert answering a question post match about the squad being ill is hardly making a habit of excuses, especially she he started the sentence with (paraphrase) "I don't want to use it as an excuse......we could have done better at times in the first half"
  10. They can train at Villa Park! What and spread it round there too? I think it's more a case of keeping the players apart for a bit to try and stop the spread. Hopefully it will settle down quickly, because we are going to need to be sharp at Chelsea. It could be a real mauling if we aren't.
  11. I don't think he was negative today? Started well, looked bright and had a go for the first 30 mins. Had a mad 4 minutes and got blown away. After that your playing against arguably one of the best possession sides in Europe and they have a 3-0 lead. It's nigh on impossible to be positive in that scenario, we did well to keep it a 3 in the circumstances. I expect us to get spanked at Chelsea, narrowly beaten at home by City, then I think we will get something against Everton. If we get anything from the next 3 games, then coupled with the win at Anfield, it's still a pretty amazing start and better than anyone expected. After that the beast is back and maybe Cole might start to have a not of an impact too - both of those players will help in the 'positive' department. By Christmas, I think we will be upper mid table and playing some pretty decent stuff.
  12. Reddit is a good site, the AMA's are great and there are some 'interesting' Subreddits. Bored of the fappening now, I'm spent.
  13. Ha fair point Briny. I've seen enough to think he will do a lot better than sparrow legs, but only time will tell.
  14. Nah. Vaginas aren't really visually appealing A bit like a plate of faggots, mash and mushy peas. Looks a bit of a mess, but tastes fantastic!
  15. Petrov mkII Will be slated after 3 months, loved after 12.
  16. "Listen lads, we are going to lose at the weekend and I need a get out. Can a few of you drink a vial of this bacteria I got the the club doc to knock up for me, nothing major you will just be puking your ring and shitting through the eye of a needle for a few days. Cheers" A grip needs to be got.
  17. You 'making it to the game' and sitting on your arse watching it is not quite the same as playing 90 mins of premier league football against one of the best sides in the league. Must be a joke/troll, cannot surely be a real opinion?
  18. First episode watched. Going to take a few episodes I reckon. So much going on already, you can see the 'lost' comparison in the pilot episode. It's very, very serious though isn't it!?
  19. All 6 out of 10, with a 7 for Delph just for effort alone. We go again.
  20. Absolutely ran himself into the ground today. Lambert said he'd been suffering 'all week' in his post match comments, so to put a shift in like he did today is all the more commendable.
  21. Define ' a while', because I've seen a lot worse from Sylla, El-Hamadi, Ireland, Herd and Bannan in the past few seasons.
  22. I agree with your sentiment of giving him time but your post is largely nonsense, he didn't do OK at all, he was completely off the pace, dwelled on the ball too much and didn't look up to speed at all whatsoever, it was a horror show. I think it's going to take the lad a good half a season to get up to speed, typical of a lot of foreign players who come over here he wants far too much time on the ball and thus gets caught in position. His fitness also isn't up to the standard required, he looks quite slow and tires early. It's going to take him a while to adjust but if he does adjust then I think he'll be a good player for us. Let's agree to disagree, because I watched it and IMO he did 'ok'. He did give it away and he did dwell on it too long - A FEW TIMES, but he also made some decent tackles, good passes and covered a lot of ground. It was a 5.5/6 out of 10 for me, not a complete horror show by any means. His performance reflected the whole team, mainly ok with a few bad mistakes that cost us.
  23. We will never make the CL with performances like that, he's a **** disgrace and we need to get rid before we drop out of the top 6 completely. I mean he can't even cook the chicken properly, let alone get his tactics right.
  24. Jeez, some people need to give the guy a break. Took a bit too long on the ball at times and misplaced a few passes. Other than that he did ok. Some of his passing was good, he tackled well and made himself available for the ball all game. Covered a lot of ground and never gave up or hid. He adjusting to the pace of the fastest and most physical major league in the world. His quality is obvious and he will be a very, very good player for us.
