  1. Possibly. I wouldn't say no immediately anyways. Has lots of experience and has done well so far.
  2. Plus 31 GD!! any chance you good loan us a striker or two? our ones seem to have some accuracy issues
  3. Its an interesting one, he came on board with some decent pedigree and it was seen as a really strong appointment. Now he is assistant and should be very involved in the squad preparation but maybe he had his hands tied by RDM, maybe his advice was continually ignored. All I care for now is a reaction on the pitch but it will be interesting to see how he fairs.
  4. Just seen the news this morning, can't say I'm too surprised. Preston was a hammer blow to an already poor list of results having been backed heavily with both resources & time. I can't see a popular appointment out there right now, at least one that is obtainable. I'm pretty worried about the immediate run of games. What is going on at this club, how can things keep going this way after us supposedly rooting out all the 'poison' and a huge change in personnel.
  5. As much as it would pain me to see Bruce here, this is a very sensible point.
  6. Me too please! If its a 'leaked' list then we can put up on here for all to see?
  7. I think the same. Yes the draws are frustrating but there has been an improvement in our play and we have been unlucky (I'm talking trying to break the frame of the goal as opposed to conceding in the last 5 mins of a game). I do think we are closer to making everything click, and you can see the players are desperate for that win. 6 points and we are up in the top half, its that close. Too early to talk about getting rid of, and I can't think of anyone who is a.) gettable and b.) better than the coaching set up we have. It might not be working the way we want it to right now, but they are all proven at this level.
  8. Theres tea all over my desk now. Thanks for that mate!
  9. Do people honestly think Tony would appoint Big Sam? Genuine question, because I'm gobsmacked at the thought of a man who is self made, worked incredibly hard to get to where he is and takes huge pride in his business, appointing a man who is currently the center of one of the biggest scandals of modern English football and is facing blatant corruption charges without a leg to stand on. I find it mind boggling. I don't think RDM will be axed just yet, but if/when he does I'd like to see us go after Quique Sanchez Flores (might be wishful thinking but he might fancy another go at the Prem)
  10. Throw Hutton at right midfield while we're at it
  11. Really hoping for a win tonight and I think we can do it. Barnsley have lost their last two, missing 2 good players. Our confidence should be high after the Newcastle game and we are unbeaten in 4 now. Hopefully we will generate some momentum from that and carry it into tonight. ---------------No Gollini for you------------- Bacuna---Elphick---Chester---Amavi ----------Jedinak---Tshibola---------- Adomah--------------------------- Ayew ---------Kodjia---McCormack------- Bench: Bunn, Baker, Cissokho, Gardner, Westwood, Grealish, Gestede
  12. This all day long. We did not buy this guy to sit on the bench. He has to start when fit. For people trying to accommodate Grealish - Adomah - Kodija - Ayew, there will be plenty of games for them to play their part in an attacking position.
  13. Cheers mate Good to hear, I think he would be a great option from the bench tonight. Hopefully he will be determined to make an impact.
  14. Is he still suspended? I'm assuming he won't be involved unless RDM has said otherwise.
  15. I would expect so until RDM states otherwise. When's the pre match presser?
  16. I like that team too, quite possibly our strongest atm. I'd prob snap your hand off for a draw right though
  17. Yea ok I see what you are saying. I'm not strictly referring to the physicality of the league (yes its a part of it) but more so that type of teams who do well in this league tend to have a strong midfield player (like the names you have mentioned) and I hope Jedinak can be that player for us. For me it comes down to this, would an opposing player in midfield be worried if they knew they were coming up against Westwood at the weekend? I don't think so. And I think thats what we need right now.
  18. What I meant was that it can be a bit of dogfight, each team is more than capable of taking points of the other and every match can be difficult. Ashley doesn't grab hold of the game and make a defining contribution like some others in this league have. Anthony Knockart, Alan Judge, Fernando Forestieri, are 3 off the top of my head who are good midfielders and make a significant difference to their team from the middle of the park, even Barton last year added huge bit of steel to Burnleys midfield. I don't think Ashley has that in him unfortunately.
  19. I think he just hasn't got the bottle to take command of a midfield, especially in this league.
  20. Well fortunately, its looking like neither will ever be fit, physically or mentally!
  21. Thats what I'd go with, but Bacuna in for De Laet if his injured (which I think is looking likely). The pressure might be off away from home a bit and hopefully the team will benefit a bit. By Christ we could do with a win, but I don't think it will come here. Mick's teams are well set up & they had a good result against Derby.
  22. This. It's the 15th of Sept. It needs more time, I know Newcastle are doing well, but they have had Rafa (who is a far better class of manager than some in the PL) since last season. There was no way we were going to walk to the league considering what we had to do over the summer. Tony has done a brilliant job so far and has gone some way in repairing this damaged club.
  23. Really hoping he can make a difference bring some composure in the final third. Looking forward to seeing him get another run out tonight, hopefully he is fired up after having his goal cleared off the line at the weekend. And yea if there's a catchy song to go with it, how bad
  24. I think we're all a bit nervous and a few wins would settle us down, but at the same time we've had one cleared off the line, hit the bar twice or three times, and guilty of some poor finishing which I'm confident will straighten itself out once the team gels. The mood would be very different if these shots went in. To be honest, I'm much happier that we are creating chances than not. What I would have given to have this complaint 6 months ago.
