Only just seen this.. Interesting shows PL had no faith in 2 of his signings.. Never really thought that much of Betrand but I suppose must be better than Luna and Bennett. Surprising to go for him though when I thought other positions more important

It's not about "not being able to compete", more like he'd probably not be good value for money (English tax and all that) and his wage demands would probably be pretty high too. He coul also go the way if Stephen Ireland. He had a lot of off field problems when at utd, apparently fell in with the wrong crowd. Birmingham is significantly closer to Manchester than London and he may go with temptation. If he can keep his head he could become a very good player but at the moment the risk is too great, especially when he isn't that experienced.

Čelůstka is his name, not whatever the hell you posted. Why did you even bring him up? No one has even mentioned him. He is a very inconsistent player in the premier league, and he rarely plays for the Czech national team. I don't understand your post. I also don't get why you say I overrate Czech players. Please cite one example of this happening before you make silly accusations. Whenever a Czech player is brought up on here, I try to provide some insight on them because not many posters know much about them. So sorry for trying to help out. Keep it up CL we enjoy your insight

Yep think it has to be signing a goal scorer (probably bent) instead of Heskey. Think that would have got us top four and who knows what would've happened then

I keep hearing that they will have a better resale value, but I don't see it. Most have under performed and therefore will not move to another prem team. Moving to championship or lower does not guarantee a higher price

Really is Roy of the rovers stuff. Fair play to him hope he continues on his progression. My boss, a kiddy seadon ticket holder says that he will have no problem stepping up. Very comfortable on the ball good work rate and an eye for a goal

What rule was that? I think (and I may be wrong) that there was a rule about using mobiles in training or the changing room, think carruthers broke it early days in lamberts reign and was promptly sent back to train with the reserves. Not 100% on that though

I think if holt had been signed when lambert first came, most people wouldn't have minded that much even if they really didn't rate Holt. However, to be fed all the young and hungry lines last yr, sign numerous other strikers and then sign a player who has dropped down a league and still struggled, it's fairly obvious why people (including myself) are frustrated by this signing. Yes we need experience I think everyone knows that, but surely it would be better served in midfield or defence.
