  1. Honestly don't see Wes, Davis or Traore as competent backup going in to next season. If the stars align then Wes might get up to speed towards then new year, but that's a big if considering the injury, the time he's been out and frankly his ability to begin with. Davis isn't a PL quality attacker currently and I'd be surprised if he isn't sent out on loan. Traoré has played the odd games as forward in his career but the bulk of those games came back in 14/15 in the Dutch division with Vitesse. He is a RW and would not be able to do any of the things we depend on Watkins to do when he plays. Think we risk being hamstrung if we fail to bring in another attacker next season but I get if the money has to be spent in other areas.
  2. Apparently Sociedad has bought out the buy back clause from Dortmund in Alexander Isak's contract so he's now 100% a Real Sociedad player. Cost then a couple € million but less than €10m so good deal for them considering half of the top clubs in Europe are interested after him having 2 solid games at the Euro's. They are also looking to tie him down to a new contract with a higher release clause than the current €70m.
  3. Turkey had the youngest team in the tournament, and one of the least experienced. And it kinda showed. Learn and move on I guess.
  4. 11 wins in a row with 32-0 in GD and 30 straight games without a loss. Pretty impressive from Italy.
  5. This is not a PL league game thou. It's the Euro's and the refs are from other countries and have discussed different situations before the tournament. According to the referee that is in the Swedish studio this is one of the things they are looking to "stamp out" I mean thank god VAR is not consistent here to what it is in the PL
  6. Have no issue with those ones getting a red card. Feels like a 50/50 if it's a red but I hate those challenges and players do it far too often these days.
  7. Well that was new Almost worked too although I've no idea if the Italy wall played any part in it.
  8. Turkey with a predictable no-show. 2-0 down already, can't be long before they lose temper and start collecting cards.
  9. As a Sampdoria fan it makes me happy to see Mancini, Vialli, Lombardo, Evani & Sansano on the Italy staff. What a fantastic team Samp had back then. And for us Villa fans GK coach Massimo Battara was here briefly under RDM.
  10. Predictable. And this is where they want to move the final to... https://www.mundodeportivo.com/futbol/eurocopa/20210620/410104517362/uefa-mbappe-benzema-hungria-racismo.html?utm_medium=social&utm_source=twitter&utm_content=futbol And related to the post above they are thinking of lighting the Allianz Arena in the rainbow colors for the Germany vs Hungary game.
  11. Italy going for a joint national record 30 straight games without a loss. And are still resting 8 players.
  12. That national anthem performance Wales vs Italy was as lopsided as the U2 vs Bocelli at the opening ceremony
  13. For whatever reason the Swedish squad found it a good idea to break the quarantine bubble and bring in 3 hairdressers to style the players ahead of the Slovakia game. Strange decision especially since they already had Covid among the players in the squad. Won the game thou and I'm sure they all looked suitably dapper but can't wrap my head around their thinking.
  14. Donnarumma - Toloi, Bonucci, Bastoni, Emerson - Pessina, Jorginho, Verratti - Chiesa, Belotti, Bernardeschi Mancini swapping 8 players

  16. Wonder how UEFA will handle this, shouldn't be an issue but who knows. https://www.welt.de/sport/fussball/article231953131/EM-2021-Protest-gegen-Orban-Muenchner-Arena-in-Regenbogenfarben.html
  17. Spain on a Barcelona level when it comes to diving and faking injuries
  18. Beating Hungary away in a packed stadium in a 30 degrees mid day game should not be considered a walk in the park.
  19. Manager also getting some flak for starting Fede Valverde out on the right and for benching Caceres.
  20. Short game for Dembele, on in the 57th, off in the 87th
