  1. Not if you look a bit further back than just the last month. We've signed players for £350m in the last few years and Grealish is more or less the only one we've sold for any money. We are not PSG or Man C and we are not allowed to act like them.

  3. No listened though the whole interview but this was pretty dark.
  4. We've been making losses of about £100m a season as well but had our owners cover for us. It's not sustainable, especially since we already spent about £95m on transfers already this window. Some of the Grealish money will have to go towards balancing the books surely.
  5. We need to spend smart. Pay big I can do without if we can avoid it.
  6. Again, spending that kind of money on JWP would be reckless IMO. And making the 15th place team worse I can live without for that price. Think he's a good player, better than the ones we have and with the added bonus of having great set pieces. I don't think he's THAT much better than what we have or offers that much different to the ones we have to justify spending anything close to £50m on him.
  7. We also need to start earning enough money so that signings like that would be financially responsible. Spending twice as much on JWP than Leicester did on Soumaré doesn't make us a big club. I'd say it makes us reckless IMO.
  8. Since I've not read about any other incidents with Weston I'm choosing to see it as a one off youthful mistake that he will have learned from.

    New kits 21/22

Thought Rupert Grint was a Spurs fan.
  10. More similar to McGinn that JWP. Great energy, aggression and mobility but not super fast. A good athlete and solid at most things but not fantastic at anything. Probably very annoying to play against.
  11. Read that the US national coach was praising him for his leadership skills so that's a positive. Italian clubs usually have little or no patience for players acting unprofessional, even young ones. English clubs are moving in that direction too I think with more and more foreign managers and club leaders. If Grealish would have pulled some of the stuff he did here under someone like Capello he would have been spanked and sent home crying.
  12. He did get into a bit of trouble for throwing a birthday party and breaking Covid protocol while Turin was under curfew. Was banned and fined by the club.
  13. Loan with option to buy would be perfect. Pretty sure Juve don't want to bring add any more squad players like Luiz since they are already bloated with a massive wage bill
  14. No way he would come, McGinn and Wesley already have the #7 & #9 shirts.
  15. Malmö won 2-0 against Lodugorets in the first CL play off game. If they reach the group stages they'll earn more money than the 2nd richest club in the Allsvenskan (IFK Norrköping) or the bottom 11 richest clubs combined have in capital. Even if they don't win a single game.
  16. They are on their way to be knocked out of the CL qualification by Benfica. The return game is on the 24th so after that they might be up for selling him. Not before thou I'd imagine.
  17. I'm not suggesting we do nothing, I'm suggesting we spend money on other players as I don't think JWP would make that much difference that he would propel us into European places.
  18. I think after the Grealish sale we are forced into a mini rebuild phase and to use US-sport terms I don't think we need or should make "win now" signings. IF we have and extra £50m to burn I much rather we spent it on say Doucoure + Damsgaard than on JWP. Would not get us into Europe next season but would hopefully leave us in a great position going forward. I can wait a season or 2 if I feel the club has a clear strategy and I don't feel JWP would offer that much difference to out midfield or make us that much better that we would be top-7 candidates this season. Fine player, great set pieces, too pricey for me.
  19. If you believe the gossips we have bid around £25m or so for him previous during the summer. Find it highly unlikely we will double that offer. If they are interested in selling and we are interested in signing him I think something like £35m, closer to the end of the window feels more likely. Throw in another £10m when we win the CL or if he wins the Ballon d'Or, something pointless like that if it let's them save face. If we are going to play 4-2-3-1 I'm not keen on him at all, if we go 4-3-3 them I'd happily take him, for the right price. And £50m is not the right price IMO.
  20. They don't want to sell him adds £20m or so to the price. Honestly think we should respect that.
  21. This is from 2 years ago. Neither we or them are exactly treading new ground here. https://healthystadia.eu/monster-energy-signs-sponsorship-deals-with-eight-premier-league-clubs/
  22. Was a expensive signing that payed off. This would be almost double that in a summer where Leicester has signed Soumaré for €20m, Arsenal get Ödegaard for €30m, Man U get Varane for €40m... The value for money you can get outside the PL this summer is better than ever. £50m is a go f yourself price from a club that has no interest to sell.
  23. If we pay £50m for we must be absolutely desperate and they'll have totally fleeced us. Can't see us doing that.
